DO NOT use anti-bacterial soap!!! That kills the beneficial bacteria that keep fungii under control, and things will get MUCH worse if you have jock itch, as that is fungal, not bacterial. NEVER use anti-bacterial (pro-fungus) soap anyplace except your hands.

Switch to a very mild laundry detergent -- no perfumes, no dyes, and most important, no enzymes. Gain is the worst of all for causing allergies. Better yet, use Ivory Snow for a while -- if it's good for baby things, it's probably good for yours. And stop using any form of fabric softener, including drying sheets.

If you machine dry, your clothes will be soft without chemical additions. If something has static cling, air dry that one item. But especially for underwear, use Ivory and NO softener. Chances are that will eliminate the itching, but it may take two or three washings to completely eliminate softeners, so give it long enough. If your washer has an "extra rinse" option, use it.

Jock itch needs to be treated with an anti-fungal spray; ask at your pharmacy. But chances are very good that if you stop putting a lot of harsh chemicals in your washer and dryer, the itch will clear up.

Naaa, the doctor is not necessary quite yet. Get to the pharmacy and pick up some jock-itch spray. Put your foot up on something and squirt the areas that itch. It's a bit cold to the feel, but it does the trick after only a couple of applications. You might want to lose the undies while sleeping or whenever possible due to unnecessary sweating. If that doesn't do it, then ya go to the the Dr.

Maybe not as much to worry about as you think dude. One of my mates has an issue with this as well.

As far as I can tell, some people are over-sensitive to certain soaps and cleaning products, but the problem is made worse in sensitive area's like the underarms and groin. Easy way to test it is to try asking your parents for a different soap or try cutting out soap altogether and using liquid soap.

If a few changes haven't helped this issue, I would recommend consulting a dermatologist who will be able to help you with further idea's.

Good luck.

you could have sensitive skin, and there is no skin more sensitive than there, it can be the soap, but i dont know, i would consult a doctor as soon as possible, but util you get to the doctor, I owuld change the soad you use, put powder on your groin area, maybe aloe or something like that can kill the itching as well, but idk, i would see a doc (either your physician or a dermatologist...prob in this case a dermatologist, or you can call your regular doc and ask them) but do it ASAP
