Bumble bees and honey bees belong to the same family Apinae--the bumble bee belong to the tribe Bombini. They are larger than honey bees, usually black and yellow. Bumble bees nest in the ground with only the queen overwintering. Bumble bees are very important pollinators, especially of clover because of their long tongues.
