How do I solve this?

I have the same problem on my HP laptop. If you press on the screen or in spots around the display, does it go away, or change position?
In my case, i think it is a loose connection from the motherboard to the display, since i can get the line to go away if i press in the right spot.
you'll need to get it looked at and fixed, you DONT want to tak apart a laptop yourself if you can help it. since it should be an easy fix it probably won't cost TOO much..
oh, and check to see if it's under warranty!!!

Call HP; ask for a repair/replacement

Get a new one, either through warrantee or purchase
