I will be staying in Kissimmee at the end of November, I would like to go to Cape Canaveral.

What is the best route, how long does it take, is there anything to see/do there?

Many thanks

Edited due to your additional info.

Take 417 north to SR528 East (the Beeline or what's now known as the beachline---tolls on this road). Take 528 east to a left exit--- for 407, Titusville, Kennedy Space Center. Take 407 until it ends at 405. Turn right onto 405 and proceed east. You will see the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex on your right. It will take you about an hour to an hour/half depending on where you are staying in Kiss. and the traffic.

They now have the new space shuttle launch experience which I have heard is awesome. Take the bus tour, see an IMAX movie, and walk around the complex. Here is their web address so you can check it all out. We just had a shuttle launch two days ago:( If you are into space and the space program then it's worth a look for sure. Make sure and check out the Astronaut Memorial Garden. They also have the Astronaut Hall Of Fame, you will see this building on your right on 405 before you get to KSC, if you want to check that out also. Enjoy your trip!

You can take 417 (toll) off of 192 in kissimmee north to the Beachline (528), go east and follow the signs to Kennedy Space Center (I assume when u say cape canaveral you mean kennedy space center...cap canaveral is the geographic name of the cape)...they have a nice visitors center and tour of the luanch sites, etc...very cool if you've never been before...they have a real saturn V (The moon rocket) on it's side in a huge exhibition hall. That is one big rocket. From kissimmee I'd say about an hour and a half.

I am not sure about the route. I think it is an interstate highway now. I was there years ago. However, I do remember the Cape well. It was a wonderful experience. We took the tour, saw mission control and the launch pads. The space museum was awesome. It really was a thrill. Driving back we saw gaters swimming in the canal along side of the road. It was great day.

t change into replaced after the assassination to Cape Kennedy, in honor of the President, yet supposedly the electorate in no way beloved that gesture. so they went again to Cape Canaveral some years in the past, although the Kennedy area center continues to be the call of the" complicated"

From International drive ( i know thats not Kissimee but its not far) i always take the Beeline expressway and just keep on going. Its about 55 miles and usually takes an hour depending on traffic.
