Did she get the shots today? If so the RN or Dr. should have told you what was safe. .8 is too much I think for a 2 month old. I'm almost positive it would be .4. Give the office a call, they will let you know what is safe.
The negative nelly a few above me is wrong about the recall. It was only infant cold medicine with decongestants because parents were giving too much which is why you need to call the pediatrician. There was no recall on plain Tylenol/Motrin. Give them a call soon, they may be closing within the next hour or two if you're on the east coast.

Infant Tylenol should go by the weight of the baby rather than the age. The weight chart is as follows
6-11 lbs 0.4ml
12-17lbs 0.8ml
18-23lbs 1.2ml (0.8 + 0.4)
24-35lbs 1.6ml (0.8 + 0.8)
There are general ages that these weights would be at, for example, 6-11lbs is listed as 0-3 months.
For Infant Tylenol, you can use it every 4 hours, BUT you should not dose more than 5 times in 24 hours.
You should, of course, check with your child's pediatrician also.
Good Luck!

Yes, Look for the childrens tylenol that comes in the dropper bottle. Give half the dropper which ends up as 0.4 ml dose an hour before the appointment. I have done this twice and my son has done well with the vaccinations. If you are still unsure call and talk to your pediatrician.

It depends on the weight of the child. My Dr. said to give 1/2 the minimum does listed (I think it was 0.5mL) if the baby is under the minimum weight. The weight is more important than the age. The package says 12-17 lbs 1 mL. So if your baby is 12 lbs give a mL if they are under 12 lbs I would just give 1/2 a mL

My doc told me to give 0.8mg at that age. My son was about 12 lbs.
PS I wouldn't do the sugar water thng. Just some baby tylenol...make sure it is infant tylenol, not childrens or adults. The dropper is very well marked.

Yes, its perfectly safe to. I give it JUST before the appointment, I also nurse during the shot. I dont know if you nurse or not, but it seriously makes it sooooo easy. My son says "whaa!" and then finishes his boobie without tears :)
Its the smaller of the two doses on the dropper. Less is always best with pain killers and babies.
Heres a link, the .08 ml dose is WRONG for 80ml infant tylenol. Its hard to find the 40ml, almost all are 80ml, so .o8 is an overdose!

I would give half of what the directions call for. Also, you could give her sugar water right before she gets the shots. Ask your pediatrician about this. I read it on a Baby site. Just a few spoonfuls is suppossed to do something to boost the baby's production of natural pain killers.

When you take your baby to the doctor for the immunizations, they will usually give you a prescription or recommend what product or dosage is suitable for your child. Don't give the baby anything until after seeing the nurse/doctor.

I gave my son Tylenol at 2 months after his shots, but i always gave less than what they said to give (just in case), but now on the news they did a recall on ALL baby Medicines b/c of too many babies dying of overdose. So now i have a 5 month old and am scared to give her any medicine.
