I read this somewhere and find it an interesting statement.
What do you class as normal and what do you think of the above statement?

Normal would be something or standards that are acceptable for the majority of people. And the majority appears normal from the outside. But we don't know their little secrets and their special ways of doing things...which would perhaps seem weird to us. Here I remembered Ally McBeal, you know, bunch of weird people, but in the end, we can relate to them...

I wouldn't use the word normal but this is a pretty accurate assessment. Everyone puts on a front when they first meet someone. Over time, they become more comfortable, then they start tearing the walls down and expressing their true self, or close to it. Normal is a hard word to define because who is to say what is normal?

Sometimes it's the opposite.

I met a very attractive, blonde Ph.D. student and thought she was wayy out of my league. We got to know each other and started dating, and I now understand that she is a normal person like most other people. Same desires, attitudes, and sense of humor.

If you perceive someone as utterly normal initially, they tend to eventually become a little less normal over time. If you perceive them as particularly abnormal (good or bad) in some way, they tend to become more normal in your eyes over time.

Kind of like how soft cookies dry out and hard cookies become soft, even in the same room. And how cold water becomes warm and hot coffee becomes cool in the same room.

Normal is a subjective term that doesn't really desribe much of anything. What is "normal" for you, might be completely bizarre to me -- or visa versa.

For example: Some people like S&M or B&D sex because to them that is "normal" and it's a turn-on. For other people that would be really weird or "abnormal" because it's not acceptible to them. Who's really to say which point of view is right or wrong?

In my opinion, none of us are normal.
We put on a certain disguise in the mornings,
when we leave the security of our domiciles,
for some it is dark glasses,
for others it is the illusion that we are "something",
we are not.
We use these disguises to cover up our imperfections, because we do not want to appear to be abnormal.
We like acceptance, we want to be liked
and in order to project that image, we create it.

I don't know what is normal person to others, what is normal to me is a sane person, who can communicate and interact with others with no problems.

welcome to the world of all the actors....and we all are! unfortunately this is a very normal "condition" of the human specie's. don't try to understand it...that means you are at the end the same as us....leave it as a statement...and not a question!
