I know several disabled adults with IQs below 80.
Will any of you write a check to them? Or do you only care about yourself?

I don't want or need any handouts.
It doesn't matter who or what I give money to.
The point of giving is not to get praise.

I give to local charities along with donating time to the local retirement center. I also donate to help those overseas you as*& wipe. Why is it you and other cons don't care about the poor or the children of the poor? If you did you wouldn't mind paying a little more in taxes to help them rather than horde the money you make. You are a despicable escuse for a human being.
You know what? Most of the money we donate goes to the poor here in the US. The majority of the poor are in the red states. Funny how cons dump on the poor all the time yet it is cons in red states that need the help. So which is it? Do you want us to keep giving to help your sorry as$$e$ out or quit giving altogether?

There are 5 million children who go to bed hungry everynight in the U.S. The U.S. has the highest child poverty rate out of all the industrialized nations. In my opinion, we give too much foreign aid when there are people here who need help. We just gave $1 billion to Mexico to help fight crime when all we need to do is secure our borders, we have crime here that needs to be dealt with. Our taxes pay for illegal immigrants to go to school when many middle class families can't afford to send their kids to college. I am a conservative Democrat, lower-middleclass until I finish college while racking up thousands of dollars in student loan debt, and I do not receive any handouts except for the Pell Grant I am using to better my situation. The poorest region in the country is the South which is overwhelmingly Republican.

I do not want any handouts.
I contribute roughly 10% of my salary to charitable organizations. I also volunteer my time whenever I can. Plus I am founding an organization that will help find meaningful employment for our disabled veterans once they return home.
I am a liberal democrat.
What are you doing?

I've never taken a dime of government money.
And the only thing a Repub will do is increase those numbers.
According to them, all the disabled with low IQ's need to do is pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
I support government FOR the people, by the people. Corporate handouts are not involved.

I am American, and I vote for the candidate that I feel has the best platform and outlook for this country. Starving Africans, over population in China, famine in countries Ive never heard of don't concern me. What concerns me is the people of this country. Citizens, not illegals. I'm concerned that citizens have to fight for SS that they have paid for decades, and is not being paid back. I'm concerned that illegals are granted SS, and not required to pay taxes for "X" amount of years, even after they apply for legal citizenship. The way the system is set up, really sucks.

well by legal standard I am the poor, I am the head of household of a family of 3 in a major metropolitan area and I make approximately 13,000/year to support all 3 of us on, (I make this between 3 jobs web design, club promotion, and bartending)... If your friends need help though I can help them find it...

Speaking of handouts, how can you justify the Bush tax cuts? It only benefits 1% of the people in the US.
Until Neocons like Grover Norquist made it a personal compaign to dismantle the social safety net, this wouldn't be an issue. Its about time you started paying your fair share.
