This is mainly addressed to Americans but if it's celebrated in your country as well your answer's welcomed.
I wanted to ask if there's any particular meal that people cook on Halloween. Are there any traditional recipes for I don't know cookies or do you have something in particular for dinner that day? Tell me whatever you want about Halloween, I'm really interested in knowing how it's celebrated where you live.

i live in the isle of man and here their are a few local customs other than those found else where.
we use sweads instead of pumpkins, and their is a song called jinnie the witch which i found out is a local halloween song from a book i bought some time ago.
i have not seen any other places customs to be abloe to tell you more but some people i know won't leave their home on halloween and if they have to won't re-enter untill after midnight incase the family has come to visit and were angry that they missed them (only when it is a long standing family home though that the dead would know about)

Halloween is a really celebrated where I come from, more now than when I was a child. My mother used to sew our costumes when I was a child so my sister and I always had something to wear for trick or treat.
Halloween centers mainly around trick or treating for children and costume balls for teenagers and adults. These days schools, churches and community centers, not to mention our local zoo, often host halloween parties, and put on theatrical " haunted house" tours and "spook walks" At the parties, there are sometimes contests for judging the most interesting, scary, unique or beautiful costumes.
Aside from candy, potato chips and other treats, there are no traditional "Halloween dinners" Sometimes, at some of the more elaborate, expensive costume balls, a sit down meal is served.

as far as foods...it is usually typical foods that are doctored up for the day..like tinting mashed potatoes green and having spegetti casue it looks like brains and blood...the kids all go out in their costumes and go door to door saying "trick or treat"....and all the neighbors will give out candy..but only go to the house that have a proch light on..the ones without are not giving out candy....parties are always fun this time of year no matter your age..you can dress up and act spooky...
