Someone on here answered a question of mine about cheating. She made the comment that, if you're not married, then its not cheating. Only married people can consider cheating, cheating. If you're not married, then you're just two people haing sex.
What do you think of that? Isn't that like saying cause your not married, its not a real relationship?
What are your thoughts on that?
I personally think its a flawed logic! Lying and hurt, is lying and hurt. Married or not!

I agree with you. If you have decided to date/see one another exclusively then it is cheating. You have reneged on your commitment . . .it is cheating!

If you are in a relationship with someone, where you are both are under the understanding that it is a committed relationship it is cheating. I dont believe that it is only cheating if you are married. So, with that logic, its like saying you can tell me you love me and you wont hurt/lie to me...but Im going to go sleep around. If someone is going to "cheat" while you aren't married, how can you trust them not to do it afterwards? Infidelity is infideltiy if you wear a ring or not.

I agree
Commitment is commitment - marriage is just a piece of paper, a ceremony & a gold band & does not make a relationship any more commited than without it.

I disagree that if you are not married then it's not cheating because a relationship is a committment and two people should be committed to each other whether they are married or not.

If you are in a relationship with mutually agreed exclusivity, and you date others, sleep with others or are otherwise emotionally involved with others, it's cheating. If there is no exclusivity (even a marriage can be open and not exclusive), then there's no cheating.

Any time you break the trust of a committed relationship it's cheating. Doesn't matter is your married or not.

I think you got right! Our behaviour toward commitments must be the same either we are single or married. Someone used to cheat and lie will probably keep doing it after marriage...I mean, skills were previously acquired, right..?

I agree with you. If two people are in a relationship and they have agreed to be exclusive then cheating is cheating.

Your right marriage is a civil thing (hence the license) Cheating is an affair of the heart and does not concern the government....

If you are in relationship you are committed somewhat like a marriage. she is just making excuses for her behavior. sex is a special thing that she killed when she CHEATED!sorry though it is a heart breaker.
