I could , but I am going to retire early , At age 48 my youngest will be 18 , my oldest will be 18 in three years , my kids can take over my company ,and invest as I did , and they too can retire early , Unlike many , when interest rates fell , I just paid off what I had (of course my house is not even 20 years old) I took investment earnings when I cashed in some stocks , I bought and paid for each kid a house on at least an acre of land , I do not make car payments nor use credit cards , when my kids work for me until I retire in 10 years , they have more to save and no car or house payments , the only rule they have is donate 10% to the church , and give 10% to charity ( abused/ burned children etc) by me giving them a good start they can give back as well .. so the answer is " YES" I could , but I want to retire and the kids need the money way more than I do .. Painting houses has been very good to me , I took over my dads company that he ran since the 1960's he retired 10 years ago , I still have many of his cutomers , some new , I have 30 clients ( mostly politicians) I work for year round , their homes here , and the vacation homes all of the place , many paint every three to five years , they have to keep everything clean crisp ,and fresh looking for the big wig political dinners ,and Presidential Visits to the area ... I expanded the business , and now I have 16 dedicated workers ( not illegals ) and I reallt do not have to do anything except collect the money ,and do payroll .....

I don't even want to do what I am doing career wise for the rest of this day! I am working on changing from the life I fell into to the life I want. Entrepreneurial spirits cannot be contained in the 9 to 5 working for someone else. I feel like my soul is being tortured every moment that I work here. Its like holding your breath under water- either you come up for air by being who you are meant to be or you swallow the stagnant waters of a mediocre life existence, and drown. I chose to come up, and swim to my future.

I am working as a Desk Clerk at Stadium Inn here in Nashville. It is a tedious boring job but it helps pay the bills. I plan on going back to school in January to get a Degree in Computers, (undecided on which direction as of yet), and to complete other degrees I have worked on in the past, (Associates in Engineering Technology and a BFA in Sculpting / Graphic Arts). So no I could not stay in the job I am in right now. And yes I am working on changing my career to one That I will enjoy.

Love my job. It is the best job in the world. No monday through fridays. My schedule changes every two weeks. I am responsible for providing service to a whole city from a control center.
Sometimes I work nights and esp. in the fall get to see the moon light up the sky. At night there are only 2 of us working so there's no one looking over your shoulder.

I'm a23 years old, I've been enrolled in Job Corps, and I have gotten trained for FREE to be a Pharmacy Technician, It's a great job, I love doing it, and probably do it the rest of my life, there is nothing else I want to do....I've been a Nursing assistant, food processing laborer, a tutor, a Camp counselor, an in home caregiver, etc. Get in to Job Corps if you are 16-24 years old, it's great, easy, and FREE for American youth.

who really knows? what is interesting now may not have the same appeal in ten, twenty, or even five years.
get degrees in flexible fields that you find challenging and enjoyable, so that if need be, you can always look at a career change or upgrade.
