female playing in the major leagues.

I'm not sexist or anything.

But I doubt there would ever be a female good enough to play in the major leagues.

Think about it. Each team in the MLB has at least a A, AA, and AA farm team. Along with rookie ball, etc teams. You would have to be better then a lot of other players to make it. It's amazing if you make it to the show period.

A female will never play MLB.

Of all the major sports, basketball is the most likely to have a female player. Baseball is right behind. Pat Borders' daughter was in the minor leagues as a relief pitcher. Because baseball requires only that you do SOMETHING very well, I can see it. Most unlikely maybe, but a soft-handed second baseman? Possible. Relief pitcher? Could be. If she runs well, she could make the team. I think it would be really cool, whether she lasted or not. You see all the women and girls in the stands? They really like it. My daughter wanted to play baseball instead of softball so we let her. I think it would be great for roughly 1/2 the fans -- the women and girls.

I guess it's possible. Physical size isn't that much of a problem in baseball, as opposed to some other sports. Let's face it, Dustin Pedroia isn't exactly imposing. In a physical sense, women certainly could be a pitcher, shortstop or second baseman (basewoman?).

However, the big problem is the lack of a feeder system. Where would a great female baseball player play? There is no high school ball, no college ball, no minor league ball. You'd have to set up a whole new sport, and that's not a short-term goal.

They wouldn't have both sexes playing in the same league. But I could see a Major League Softball sometime in the future. If they are really determined they could make a Women's Baseball League. But no one will watch it anyways so there's no point. Not that I am sexist or anything, thats just my assumption.

If she had a good knuckle ball.

Charlie Hough threw around 50 mph, sometimes able to drop into the high 40's. A girl could practically run faster than Hough could throw.

Of course, once in a while, Hough could shock batters with his 'blazing' 70 mph fastball. If you throw slow enough, even 70 mph can look fast.

GeneH: Are you sure that was Pat Borders's daughter? There was an Ila Borders that pitched relief in the Northern League, but she was born in 1975 and Pat Borders was born in 1963.

i'm undecided if a HR surely killed surely everyone yet there became a glass that gave up a HR that could have contributed to his dying a pair of years later. In interest 5 of the 1986 AL Championship sequence and the Angels have been triumphing 5 to 4 in the ninth inning and have been one strike faraway from advancing to their first ever international sequence. Dave Henderson hit a 2 run HR of Donnie Moore to place the crimson Sox up 6 to 5 in a interest that they might ultimately win in 11 innings. They then went directly to win the subsequent 2 video games to augment to the international sequence. very just about 3 years later after being shrink by utilising the Royals the combinition of extreme melancholy, the repercussions of that 1986 loss, and marital and fiscal issues, Moore devoted suicide. Had he been able to get Henderson out who is familiar with what might have got here approximately. i be conscious of that bill Buckner's existence might have been so lots greater suited.

No
I don't think a woman has ever played in the minor league.
I mean no woman has even come close to being good enough to play in the majors.

the mlb will not have a women play them game because of the distraction that will come out of it. Bud Selig does not know how to handle many things.

examples:
The Barry Bonds 756 homerun game.
The All-Star game that ended in a tie.
Steroid allegations galore (he refused to comment)

If a women tried to play he will put it down immediately. sorry ladies.
