Being addicted to porn desensitizes you to harder and harder acts of pornography, much like cocaine does: it gets you wanting more and more in higher in higher and harder and harder doses. Thus, after a prolonged addiction to pornography, regular sex doesn't seem to give you the "rush" or thrill that it would had you not looked at porn in the first place.

I sympathize, because I too have a bad addiction to pornography. I have prayed to the Lord and asked for his help. So far, God has helped me well, it's just me who hasn't been willing to help myself. :'(

I own a porn store and see many men who watch porn and who are also married.

I am also in a relationship and i have to say that even when surronded by it all day it doesnt make me want my girlfirend any less.
If anything it makes me more adventurous and helps me get out of the autonomous rut that you can so easily slip into when you are with someone for a while.

Mostly men use porn to escape a little from reality, I am guilty of that. But that dosnt mean he wants to escape from YOU, its just a release for desires all men have.

You have to also remember porn is very EASY, you whack it into the DVD player spend a quiet moment alone then turn it off and thats it. There is no wondering about your performance, no problem if get half way and decide you dont feel like it anymore and no real physical work required.

It would only be a problem if he is watching porn as a substitue for sex. If you are still having sex then i would say its not really an issue.

No, I would definitely rather sleep with my wife. The thing is that when the wife isn't in the mood and I am, then there is porn. If we are in the mood and can't find a partner we have to find a release. Some play golf, others workout, but most men will just play the old five knuckle shuffle. Now, for most men who have done that since adolesence, it gets boring going around somewhere and doing it. When need inspiration and scenery. That is where the porn comes in. It helps our imaginations. Also, while looking at porn, most of us will put you and ourselves in that situation, and that is where we get ideas for certain things we do in the bedroom. It gives us an opportunity to play these situations out in our mind and find out if we would like to try it in "game situation." All I am saying is that if used correctly, porn can be a great help in a couple's sex life. The key to using it correctly is sharing and communication between both parties.

There's no real comparison between the two. Perhaps lousy porn negatively affects the porn watching experience. Or perhaps lousy sex makes sex with the wife not as fun. But viewing porn and having sex are two separate things. The only crossover is when porn is viewed before or during sex. In those cases it is usually a plus.

I think porn has an affect on a married guys sex life. Many times the wife will not allow or perform the activities that he sees and this can lead to negative feelings for both (husband and wife). I also think that porn watching can be addictive, which can lead to other marriage problems.

I think it all depends on the man. Some can casually look at it while others prefer to look at it. If it becomes a priority rather then being with his wife then he needs to stop looking and start counceling. He is hurting his marriage and needs to see why he would rather sexually satisfy himself rather then have the real thing. I know men are going to want to see other women naked. I cannot understand why they cannot look at the porn but go to thier wife. It just doesn't make sense.

Not at all. There are some things men watch in porns that they will never have a chance to do with their wives.
For example, lets say he's into watching lesbian porn and lets say he knows you'd never be open to the idea of doing such a thing. Why not let him watch it to satisfy his urge if it turns him on? If it makes you uncomfortable that he has intimate time with himself, offer to be there when he's all hot and bothered from it.

Hi Heather

Don't be fooled it affects ones sex life.
Porn is scripted & directed to male satisfaction only & this then becomes a mans idea of sex.
As a result women are not recveing a fulfilling sex life.
Enjoy the 2 weeks & remember, NO PORN!

Cheers
B.

Not a man, but I'll answer anyway...

My husband and I both watch it from time to time. It has not negatively affected our sex life in the least.

Here's how someone once explained it to me: You can either use porn to ENHANCE your relationship, or to ESCAPE it. I think there's a LOT of truth to that.

I don't think it does, I think it enhances it. It increases arousel and desire. The issue is wether or not you're doing the stuff the porn actresses are? That may be the issue, he may watch 20 guys get great head and F in 20 positions and all you do is a little pregame stroke and take the top once and don't moan or anything...that's why watching together helps enhance the couple. Or, watch some no your own and try to emulate what they're doing....massage the balls during a bj, lick everywhere, scream F me harder...anyway, that' s just my opinion...good luck!!
