It is not hate, just realizing they are over hyped and not as good as there ranking.

Well, if your are a Michigan fan like I am you hate them naturally. Everybody knows that Michigan and Ohio State are big rivals. The Big Ten is not a weak conference. It is actually a strong one. Just because a conference does not have that many ranked teams does not mean that it is a weak conference. The quality of play in the Big Ten is about equal to that found in the ACC, Big East, Big 12, SEC, and the Pac-10. I do know why people outside the Midwest underestimate the Big Ten's strength.
Uh whalers68, that would be because the school IS officially called The Ohio State University and not Ohio State University. Get your facts right.
Monte A. Appalachian State is not a D-II institution. It is a D-I school but in football it is a D-I FCS school (formerly I-AA). Just to make it clear I do not attend Appalachian State. I attend a Division II institution, Grand Valley State University.

It is not a weak conference traditionally and this year. They have had 2-3 teams ranked all year in the Top 25
People are beating this to death.. Every College Football fan has an issue with their team not being # 1.
GO BUCKS!

They dont deserve #1 just because they're undefeated. Let them play in the SEC or ACC and see how many losses they have. They ARE overhyped. Who have they played that is worth a damn? And to reitterate about the ACC since you added additional details, I know the ACC isn't doing too good but I never said they were. That's how overrated OSU is, they would have trouble in the ACC. Yeah BC is #2 and I don't care, I think Virginia Tech would would easily beat those overoveroverrated buckeyes. I don't dislike OSU as a team I just don't think they should be number 1 there is plenty of one loss and even two loss teams that should be ranked above them. Who in their right mind would really think OSU should be ranked over LSU? LSU would murder ohio st. I would love to see OSU play LSU or UF's schedule!

They play a weak schedule and get the # 1 spot. I could care less, because the better team will win in the end. But I personally think te BCS rankings are and always have been screwy. (My fave rarely makes the BCS ranks, so I'm not a fan of the others in the top 10, just being objective)

I dont hate on Ohio State but I dont root for them either. My team is a member of that conference and they are not doing well at all. Better than in the recent past but still not as good as they could be.

I hate them, but not for that reason. The Big 10 isn't that bad this year. Just because Michigan isn't living up to their #5 preseason rank, doesn't mean the Big 10 sucks. Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan State have all played better than expected, so I don't get that. So, i don't hate on them for being in the Big 10, even though they won't be #1 after tommorow.

Why do people ask these questions? The very obvious answer is WE ARE NOT FROM OHIO WE LIKE ONE OR MORE OF THE OTHER DOZENS OF GOOD TEAMS OUT THERE! Don't you also think it's just plain retarded to say they get no respect when they are an almost unanimous #1?

It is not hate. Just lack of respect.... It is hard to respect a team when they have not played anyone yet, and their biggest test is suppose to be against the Big Blue... Oh yeah, and they lost to a D-II school. I gave them respect last year because the win over Texas until they where destroyed by Florida. And here is a fun fact for you OSU fans. OSU is 0-8 vs SEC schools in all bowl games..

They cheat, they pay players and don't make them go to class. Tressel did similar things at Youngstown State.
If you go to a ohio state game with out of state plates on your car, they trash your car, especially with michigan plates. No one does that to ohio cars when they play in michigan.
Woody Hayes has left a legacy of bad sportsmanship. He was a great coach, but he should have been fired 20 years before he was. He was finally fired for running on the field and punching an opposing player.
Ohio makes a lot of money by giving speeding tickets to out of state cars. Because of where Ohio is, lots of people have to drive through Ohio. They write up people going 5 mph over the limit, if they have out of state plates.
Ohio State is a no nothing party school, so its hard to really have any respect for them.
Ohio State coaches won't say the word "Michigan". This is stupid and immature, and an example of poor sportsmanship. These are the coaches, they encourage poor sportsmanship. It's embarrassing.
They take any players they can get, regardless of their character or academic ability. They use them, and spit them out. I'm talking about Maurice Clarret, you can read his story on espn.
Have you heard OSU's parody words for the Michigan fight song? Its the most vulgar thing you ever heard.
There's more reasons, but I'll leave it as it is.

My dad and I cheer for Ohio State because one of their star players is Lithuanian (Laurinaitis). :)
Aside from that, I think they're pretty solid - they make mistakes just like every other team but I still think they deserve to be in the Top 10.
