Yeah, the fact that the economy is not determined by free market competition, but rather who can get government contracts and tax breaks. Monopolies and oligopolies influence federal law to prevent competition (RIAA, Microsoft, DMCA).
There's not much of our system that really resembles capitalism. All the biggest companies have some sort of deals worked out with the politicians/government payroll.

Yes. We have slowly incorporated socialist institutions into our government since it began. Some is necessary. But we are starting to cross the line from being a Republic that uses some aspects of socialism to becoming a socialist state. And this is not good. Socialism is just an intermittent stage in Democracy that leads up to Communism.....

Yes. The folks who squawk the most about socialism in our policies and social programs are the ones who do the most to keep the status quo. That means welfare and unemployment....believe me, they may say they don't like it, but a lot of people are making a lot of money off of the system, and I don't mean the ones at the bottom of the food chain.

The very fact that the government pays for any type social assitance is, by its definition, socialism.......examples: healthcare, assistance housing program, food programs etc.

The armed services (Navy, Marines, Air Force, etc..) fire departments, police, public schools, the united states postal services, healthcare for politicians -- hmmmmm. So many serivces - yet so little time to list them all.
