Should I get a puppy or an Ipod. I was really thinking about this because there's an MSPCA animal shelter and I visited. And all of a sudden I wanted a puppy. But I also wanted an Ipod Touch for a while.

I'm a (some-what broke) college student on a tight budget.

Yeah I know, this is a weird question.

Yikes! I got attacked on some of the answers on this question. I know how much of a responsibilty a puppy is, and when I say I'm some-what broke I mean that I'm temporarily broke as of now. It's not like I was gonna go out a bring a puppy home. Things like that take time, and planning.

Get the Ipod, Today it costs lots of money for shots, vet visits. If you don't have the money to spare don't get a puppy. I rescue abused dogs and I spend on average $200.00 a month in vet bills. I know you would be good with a puppy but they can bankrupt you too. And you would feel terrible if you couldn't pay a vet bill.

No one should get a puppy because they "all of a sudden wanted one." A dog is a big responsibility that takes a lot of time and attention. Also, with shots, check-ups with the vet, random illnesses, food, treats, etc., it can be somewhat costly. If you are college student, I am assuming you probably live in a dorm or an apartment with roommates. This is not a good environment for dogs. When you graduate, do you know where you'll be going? A dog can live for many, many years, and will limit the apartments and areas where you can live. Between classes, social activities, and work (so you can pay for the dog), will you have time to train the dog, take it on walks, play with it, etc.? These are all important things to consider.

Go for the IPOD...you'll enjoy it, and you have the rest of your life to get a puppy. Wait until you have a house and the financial stability to afford it.

Well I would advise The Puppy their company is really great memories are classic and Indelible
But since you say u are a broke college I know how u r feeling cuz I am too so I advise in this situation take the ipod it is easier to maintain than a puppycause pupies gotta go 2 d teh vet regularly for check up & other stufff plus picking up their dung in the streets etc,it is kinda like having a kid. Thus let's leave that for when u are more matured and u are earning ur own money and when u can afford it.
PS:I love pupies they are so cute and adorable.

You need the Ipod, trust me. For one a puppy isn't something you decide to get on a whim, it takes a lot of thought and consideration. Also if you're broke you definately don't need a puppy because there will be future expenses such as food, medical and vaccination costs, leash, collar, etc. If you're a student then you probably don't have enough time to devote to an animal that will need lots of attention and exercise.
Just get the Ipod!

A puppy is a LONG term commitment, Id wait until the money is flowing a littel better for that. Puppies have expensive things come up, like vet visits, and food for the puppy is a constant cost. Id stick with the music for now, give it a little while before you go the puppy route.

I would say an Ipod Classic. Because considering your a college student a puppy would be a lot of work, and plus since you said your broke... A puppy would cost a lot of money along with all the food, treats, and supplies needed to take care of it. :)

Get an ipod, they poop less and they don't mind being left home, they don't require you to be stable for 10 to 15 years and they're always fun to walk. Puppies chew, they can't be left alone and just like a boyfriend, their cuteness diminishes the longer you know them.

15 years ago you were a little kid. It's hard to predict what will happen in your life in the next 15 years, and dogs never really understand if your life changes and you can't keep them with you.

Dont get a puppy if you are a broke college student, You wont have the time or money to care for it properly. And if you have to choose between some piece of electronics or a living animal, just choose the electronics, it suits you better.

If you have to ask a question like this, you should not get a dog. A dog is a lifelong committment and you shoud not take such questions lightly. I would say get the iPod and then go do volunteer work at the shelter. Then you will be helping homeless animals but you won;t have to worry about vet bills, food, and leaving the dog home when you go out.
