My computer won't boot. when I try to turn on my computer my hard drive makes a whole bunch of clicking sounds. I have a lot of data on this hard drive and desperately need to recover it. Any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this.

Noisy HDD looks like the hdd is going to die and you are not able to go into windows.
Solution 1
Remove to old hdd.
Replace the hdd with a new one and load the os in.
Plunge back the old hdd as a secondary drive after you confirm you are able to go into windows with the new hdd.
Now PRAY that your system is able to detect the 2 drives.
You should be able copy your data over to your new drive.
Please take note if you are using a ATA hdd remember to set the jumper on the hdd.
One must be set as master and the other as slave but if you are using SATA hdd than you don’t have to as there is no jumper to set.
Solution 2
Remove the old hdd
Get an external USB 3.5’ HDD casing.
Mount the old hdd in it and plug the USB to another PC to see it is able to detect and copy files from your old hdd.

If you dont get ur display in the monitor ur mother board will be in trouble. If your display shows boot from cd. Then you can enter bios and correct the problems.
