best time to conceive is about 2 weeks prior to next expected period. Good luck to you.

you can get pregnant anytime of the month even whiles your having your period but this is rear, some people who don't have a period even does get pregnant, a day after your period you are even standing a chance of getting pregnant, but its mostly said that 14 days before your next period you are most fertile, so if you have a 28 day cycle you subtract 14 and you get you most fertile day

Eg- as for me I have a 29 day cycle so you subtract 14 from that 29-14=15, so my most fertile day is day 15, not every one does ovulate on day 14, you most learn your body in order to predict ovulation time,

I am going to give you my standard answer.......go get a book called "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you truly understand your body and cycle and erase all the myths that women believe about their bodies.I believed all the ovulation & conception myths that are floating around here until we tried for a year with no luck. My doctor recommended the book and it worked the very next month! It turned out my timing was wrong and that I don't ovulate in the middle of my cycle like most women.
I'll be 40 in Nov....and I am due to have my 4th in March!

basic answer: any day

More realistic answer: About 14 days before your next period starts. This is when most women ovulate, no matter how long their periods are. 14 days after the first day only works if your cycles are ALWAYS 28 days.

You can find out when you are most fertile by checking your cervical mucus and charting your basal body temperature. This should help get you started: http://www.babycenter.com/0_basal-body-temperature-and-cervical-mucus_3195.bc

Day 1 of your period is day 1 of the cycle, and at about day 14 you ovulate. So, you want to have sex just prior to ovulation for the best chance for pregnancy.
