I read that small claims in my state does claims of up to 3,000. Anyone know where you go for claims over that?

Check your state because in some states it is higher. New York State is $5,000.

Hard to say without knowing the state. Usually, it is the civil session of the same court that takes the small claims cases. In MA that is either the District Court or the Housing Court, although if the claim is for more than $25,000, it has to go to Superior Court.

Civil Court. Small claims court does not allow attorneys, Civil does and it is recommended to have one.
