He is fat, a liar and failed most of his science classes in college. Can no one see that he is an alarmist who believes the world will be a ball of fire in 8 years. The only problem here is that he predicted doom when he was vice president

You're right.. this Nobel Peace Prize has degenerated into a political organization. It is undoubtedly highly politically motivated.

I have nothing against Gore or the idea to make the world a cleaner place. BUT... Gore is not a scientist. If it is Global warming, a scientist should get the award, and not a political activist. And he has not been able to stop any wars or cause any genocides (like Darfur) to stop.

How does Gore create peace? Where's the proof? And how does Gore stop global warming? Where's the proof? Where's the hard science?

I've been wondering the same thing. I do believe that global warming is a potential problem, but I do not understand giving him a nobel peace prize for his work in that area because it just doesn't seem to be related. For one thing, don't the global warming people realize how much this ridiculous award actually damages their position by making it seem ridiculous in turn?

On the other hand, maybe that's it. Maybe the award was not engineered by global warming people who wanted to recognize Al Gore's work, but rather by people who reject (or at least profit from pretending to reject) global warming, in a deliberate attempt to make the global warming crowd look bad. It seems like nothing is entirely innocent these days...

Algore got that award because of the socialist dominated panel which chooses the recipients.

His movie, "An Incontinent Truth" won some kind of bs award in Hollyweird so that made him a "scientist" for which he got the Nobel pee ce prize.

Here is truth about global warming:

Global warming is one-half of the climatic cycle of warming and cooling.
The earth's mean temperature cycles around the freezing point of water.
This is a completely natural phenomenon which has been going on since there has been water on this planet. It is driven by the sun.
Our planet is currently emerging from a 'mini ice age', so is
becoming warmer and may return to the point at which Greenland is again usable as farmland (as it has been in recorded history).
As the polar ice caps decrease, the amount of fresh water mixing with oceanic water will slow and perhaps stop the thermohaline cycle (the oceanic heat 'conveyor' which, among other things, keeps the U.S. east coast warm).
When this cycle slows/stops, the planet will cool again and begin to enter another ice age.

It's been happening for millions of years.

The worrisome and brutal predictions of drastic climate effects are based on computer models, NOT CLIMATE HISTORY.
As you probably know, computer models are not the most reliable of sources, especially when used to 'predict' chaotic systems such as weather.

Global warming/cooling, AKA 'climate change':
Humans did not cause it.
Humans cannot stop it.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been political for quite a while already, no big surprise if you ask me.

If you judge people by their weight ("He is fat"), good night to the country you come from... Einstein failed math classes in school, so what?!

(I am NOT NOT NOT comparing Gore to Einstein, in case somebody didn´t get that...)

And what does Al Gore have to do with Global Warming? Well, he is head propagandist, that's about it. I would consider giving it the IPCC (which also received the prize, and gets no credit) acceptable. Not the Goracle, creator of the internet. The IPCC very carefully uses accurate language to describe the problem, they never say it's definitely happening. It is the media, and people like Al Gore that promote the agenda through fear and intimidation.

Gore won the award because of his tireless work on the environment and climate change, over the course of the last 30 years... that's right, 30. 8 years in the House of Representatives, 7 years in the Senate, and 8 years in the White House, all of which were spent doing the same work, plus the 7 years since the SCOTUS handed Bush the Presidency, in which Gore stepped it up a notch, touring the world giving lectures, and yes, making his film.

i defy ANYONE trolling Y.A. to list the things they've done to help humanity. Gore's done plenty. a Nobel's worth, in fact. whip out some proof that he failed "most of his science classes" in college, or you've got nothing but the ad hominem attack of "he's fat," like those morons on FNC use.

Where did he say he believes the world will be a ball of fire in 8 years?

No where. Typical con strawman argumen.

Al Gore is just repeating what the vast majority of scientists have been saying. In case you haven't been paying attention, the Nobel Prize also went to the IPCC scientists.

This panel was created from scientists around the world.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee said global warming "may induce large-scale migration and lead to greater competition for the Earth's resources. Such changes will place particularly heavy burdens on the world's most vulnerable countries. There may be increased danger of violent conflicts and wars, within and between states."

it has to do with people who do things out of love for humanity and the world we live in. Its actually pretty logical if you have an open mind. The real question is ...do you....do you have an open mind, or are you simply another closed minded hater.
I think the tone of your question and the words you choose to use show that you are not...and that further more you are likely an undecucated would be fascist to boot who probably agrees that the constitution is just a piece of paper, that torture is just fine as well as illegal spying on citizens, and perpetual war is just dandy.

Why do you assume that just because he is educated, intelligent and that the scientific community believes in global warming, that Al Gore is a "liar". Do you have any proof or are you allowing Republican propaganda to get in the way of clear thinking?
