I am only able to read about 20 books a year right now. I have a demanding job, family, and home to take care of. I try to make the most of my reading time by not reading junk. This year I have read Catcher in the Rye, Slaughterhouse 5, Wicked, Night, Water for Elephants, and Lovely Bones to name a few.

I read several years ago that the average American reads only 2 nonfiction books in their lifetime after graduating from high school. Since I don't like to be average, I try to read 2 nonfiction books every year.

I listen to public radio in the car to and from work. I love to listen to interviews with authors. I'm spending a lot on books these days but I keep Barnes & Noble in business.

I used to read a book a day--roughly 300-400 pages long--when I was in jr. high and high school. College is much more demanding, so I've cut back to probably one a week. I didn't really have a preference at the start, but sometime about ninth or tenth grade I developed a preference for fantasy. Tolkien was the first fantasy I read, then the works of Mercedes Lackey, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Andre Norton, Anne McCaffrey...my current favorites are by Lynn Flewelling.

I read everyday. I read several books at one time.
When I finish, I look for new books to read.

I am nearly finished author Benjamin Franklin Cooling's book - 'Forts Henry and Donelson: The Key To The Confederate Heartland.' This book is EXCELLENT!

Next in line is: 'The Fiery Trail: A Union Officer's Account of Sherman's Last Campiagns."

I never used to read much at all. Since I got our ot High School I read maybe ten books. But then I visited Antietam Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland, USA and I can't read enough about this battle and the things that led up to it. I've gone through over a dozen books about Antietam alone and have another doezen waiting for me.

g-day!

I read 2-3 books a week. Usually a couple of hours a night. I mostly read urban fantasy and sci fi. Not a whole lot of non fiction.

I usually go through 3-4 books a month, depending on the size and depth of reading.

I just finished HOW TO TRADE STOCKS by Jesse Livermore and now I'm reading: HOW I MADE 2,000,000 DOLLARS ON THE STOCK MARKET by Nicholas Darvas.

Before that I read: THE LOGIC OF CHANCE (1854) by John Venn, then I read: POPULAR DELUSIONS AND THE MADNESS OF CROWDS (1855) by Charles MacKay; before that I read: THE AMERICAN SENATOR (1855) by Anthony Trollope.

I like to read: biographies, histories, nautical history, and Political Economy. I also like poetry and science.

Probably about 6-8 books in a week. I'm still in high school though so it's difficult sometimes. I just see what I like in the library, if I think it looks good then I will read it. I love CHERUB, Harry Potter and stuff. =] x
