I love nintendo. We keep getting the new version just so we can play Zelda. Don't have the wii yet, but it is on the horizon.

I don't play video games. But, I can accept the assertion contained in that article. Many years ago the Chief of Medicine at our overseas military hospital told me it is vital for one to exercise the brain, like any other vital organ. Doing that explains the difference between active older people and tose in their 30s who look ready for the grave already.
As for hand-eye coordination and improvement of reflexes, the U.S. Army made video games available for free to the crews being trained on the Abrams tank when it was undergoing testing and evaluation. Each barracks had a game room at the end with video game consoles.

The video games I play are on the computer. It does help me get the old brain going, esp the room escape ones. There are ones that help with my hand/eye coordination too, if I have to do something before time runs out or something like that.

I played a game of "Pong" when it first came out around 1977 or 78 after getting it as a Christmas gift for my children. I haven't touched a video game sense then.
I do play cards and games that challenge the mind. I do puzzles and read. These things are supposed to be good for keeping your mind alert and active.

I wasn't very good with the Atari or Nintendo either. My eye hand coordination is still pretty good, but I'm just no good at those games.

Video games have always escaped me. I do on line bridge to keep my head working, I do graphic design with a track ball, so that keeps my eye/hand coord working fine...and is seems lately, that all I do it input into the keyboard, day and night...somewhere, I have got to take a break and get back to making money...fun and games is fine, but this is getting ridiculous. Love and peace, Phil

Very out of the loop on video games. Since my children got so high tech years ago I stopped playing at all.
Now if Atari ever makes a come back...

I used to play Nintendo with the kids. Nintendo got rid of the joy stick, and I gave up trying to manipulate the buttons.
