No, all spiders are arachnids, which is defined by having 8 segmented legs. What could cause a 9-year old to think that is that spiders also have a pair of small arms called pedipalps, which are used as feelers and in mating. They kinda look like a 10th pair of legs

Maybe an occassional "mutant" - but there is no recognized species of spider with more than 8 legs.

Spiders are defined as having 8 legs and two body segments.

If it has 10 legs, it's something else.
