How dare they take the "Hallow" out of "een"! Ghouls and witches are the reason for the season! I, for one, will not shop ANYWHERE where they say "Happy Hayride" instead of "Happy Halloween!" This country was founded on pagan morals, how dare they try and "shove" their religious sensibilities on us good witches and warlocks!
Does this all sound familiar? Man, that was fun to write.

I hate it when anybody declares war on anything. Let the churches have their Halloween get togethers. If you don't want to attend then you don't have to go. I could care less what the churches do on Halloween. I will be at home handing out candy with my wife and enjoying all the different costumes that come to the door.

I live in an ultra-conservative area where many subscribe to this way of thinking. My family--although politically conservative--does not. Why can't you have fun on Halloween? All you need to know is the difference between reality and fantasy. By the same token, i do not begrudge those who do not wish to partake.

I am a conservative and my favorite holiday is Halloween.
This kind of condemnation of Halloween is nothing new with fundamentalists Church's- The Jehovah Witnesses have handed out pamphlets about how bad Halloween is as their treats since I was a kid.
Dude- if you want to talk about holidays having war declared on them let's talk about Christmas. OK?

I think it is hysterical! There were a few families where I used to live, & they either hid in the basement with no lights on, or handed out Christian literature. Lotsa fun for kids!
It is a harmless little thing, & NOTHING like the original Pagan ceremony! Let them have some fun!

Is Media Matters at it again? For years churches have called the event pagonistic ... nothing changes just more perfectly timed releases of information. Love that Patty Solys Doyle. Wait until she goes head to head with Mary Maitlin (Mrs James Carville and Thompson Campaign-Official- Advisor) vs. the Sandy Burglar. Looking forward to those battles til the primaries !!
War, nope. Just more propaganda. Politics as usual.

Don't give a flip if people choose to allow their kids to become little beggars for a night. But the claim of conservative PC is just as empty as all those calories from the wages of little Johnny and Sally's panhandling.

It's an overreaction on their part. There's nothing demonic about a little kid dressing up like Spiderman and going trick or treating.
