I would. Two million might not be a lot of money this days but comparing to what I make yearly I could profit better with 2 mils if invested right. For example: A CD account with 5% APR would make me $100,000.00 a year which is way more than what I make now.

Yes.

Properly invested $2million would give me a nice income and some growth to counteract the effects of inflation.

$2,000,000 x 5% income = $100,000 the first year

$2,000,000 x 10% growth = $200,000 extra the first year

Plus if the bulk of the income comes from qualified dividends you're paying only a maximum 15% income tax, no social security and no medicare.

In the sense of working for someone else, or for a company, I'd surely give that up in a second.

I'm an artist, and that's where my heart is. The money would make it possible for me to "work" at that.

no - sad to say but 2 million wouldn't get too far these days... though i probably would use the money to open the business that i've always wanted to run.
