Help with name or artist of spooky song?

Can anyone tell me the name of the song you always hear on cartoons or old films using a church organ and its a spooky tune. Maybe even used on old scooby doos.
Although it is spooky it does even sound like classical music.
Any help would be great thanks.

You are probably thinking of Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor. I think it is by JS Bach.
