Based on the category that you have asked this question in I am answering thus...

The most severe problem we face now in marriage is that everyone thinks that they need to be happy 24/7. This is not what marriage is. Marriage is a lot of unhappiness, a lot of overcoming obstacles, and then when all that is done.. it is having someone to stand next to and say "Wow, we made it!"

We as a society have forgotten that when we say "I do" we also say the "for better or for worse"

Love between a wife and husband should be unconditional. In today's society it is not. Today we say, "I'll love you until someone better comes along." or "I'll love you until i get bored"

We need to make it harder to get divorced. Couples should have to go through 6 months of counseling before they are allowed to get divorced. A year of family counseling if kids are involved.

People are just way to willing to give up without putting up any kind of fight.

Marriage is hard, if you aren't willing to work for it you should stay single!!!

I think the first thing is that consistently happy people probably don't spend a lot of time wondering if they are. So this person would presumably have some up times and some down times. Maybe they could look to some activities they take part in, that vary during the year and during the day, and see if their mood is best when they do more or less of them.

You are either happy or you are not. If you are satisfied that life is what you want and choose to feel good about it then you are happy. Kind of a lame question unless you had more specifics about a situation otherwise this belongs in the philosophy section.

When they smile and laugh more then they frown and cry. For they are at least happier at times. We will probably not be happy at every single moment, this is just life, but we can know by the unforced smile on our face, that we are happy. And actually sometimes smiling even when we are not happy will lead to a smile that is truly sincere. Its like getting your face ready for a smile:)

So are you trying to decide if you're happy or trying to convince yourself that you're happy. If you have to ask, then you probably aren't happy. If you have to convince yourself you are, then you definately aren't. However, keep in mind that the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence but it's not necessarily so.

u know u're happy when u don't get angry if someone suddenly does something that normally annoys u. also when u find urself enjoying everything u're are doing, no matter what it is. u're also happy if u find it difficult to hurt someone at any particular time. happiness is a function of the mind, whenever u think everything around u is going well, then know that u are happy. because there isn't a time when everything is alright. thanks

Are you talking from a relationship standpoint or just in general?

Happiness in a relationship is..... having total trust in your partner! If you can trust completely, everything else is easy!

Happiness in general is.....trusting in yourself completely! Truly loving who you are!

This seems obvious. Don't you know when you are happy? You feel happy when you're happy... you feel sad when you're not...
