Why Does It Seem That The Democrat's Ideology Doesn't Jive With This Constitutionalist ?

Maybe You Better Read The WHOLE Thing Before Answering. . . . Adams Was Right

Two Significant Quotes From John Adams --

"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other." -- John Adams

In 1786 John Adams said this: "It has ever been my hobby-horse to see rising in America an empire of liberty, and a prospect of two or three hundred millions of freemen, without one noble or one king among them. You say it is impossible. If I should agree with you in this, I would still say, let us try the experiment, and preserve our equality as long as we can. A better system of education for the common people might preserve them long from such artificial inequalities as are prejudicial to society,
*by confounding the natural distinctions of right and wrong, virtue and vice*."
-- John Adams (letter to Count Sarsfield, 3 February 1786)

The first Justice of the Supreme Court, John Jay said, "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."
If this is true, then how have we got here to this place where everything we have done in over 230 years in the United States, is now unconstitutional?
James Madison stated, "We have staked the whole of all political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity each and all of us to govern ourselves, sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Nuff said?

His words are pretty, and even true, although, being fair, as is my responsibility to myself, I must recognize that John Adams didn't live up to them for ALL people, meaning blacks, and women. (hence, "freemen")
I realize it was a different age, and time, but if we are to believe in his words, we must take them to heart, and WE ourselves stand by the Constitution as a free people.
I agree that Democrats, for the most part, are not, since it would seem they are out to shut out belief in God, by taking out the ten commandments from schools, and other public buildings, and stopping religious children from having clubs in schools, and disallowing prayer.
It is the Democrats who keep a "hold" of the minorites with promises of "we owe you", and free gifts from the government, all in the name of slavery. People seem to forget that it is a Republican that set the slaves free, Abraham Lincoln, and a Democrat that wanted to re-inslave them after the Civil War, Andrew Johnson. I can never understand why the words "I will GIVE you", are more compelling to a person than "I deserve this".

I suppose I branched out a bit on your question, but I was compelled to.

Excellent question.

The basic building blocks of our society are Judeo-Christian, where else was a society with all men created equal - other civilization allowed slavery throughout while we in the end realized it was not consistent with our belief in equality. Morality comes from our religion and shows why virtue is important.

OK.
"Two Significant Quotes From John Adams", that are not in The Constitution for some reason.
That is Adam's opinion. Why should others share his opinion from the 1700's?

"The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all the departments in one, and thus to create whatever the form of government, a real despotism. A just estimate of that love of power, and proneness to abuse it, which predominates in the human heart is sufficient to satisfy us of the truth of this position."

"The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is in extending our commercial relations to have as little political connection as possible... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalships, interest, humor, or caprice?... It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world."

"The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."

"If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter."

I really don't see that better system of education that is supposed to differentiate between virtue and vice and preserve us long. Apparently, the school board that approved birth control for middle-schoolers cannot explain the difference between virtue and vice, right and wrong, so they vote to confuse another generation.

So, you're of the opinion that the Liberal Jefferson wasn't involved in writing the constitution? The fact is, Adams the Conservative, and Jefferson the Liberal played balance to each other on the Seesaw that was our early Democratic Republic.

Thank You

Liberals don't think the USA is special. If France has free healthcare and a 30 hour work week well damn it then that's what we should have.

And if the UN says we are bad - then we are!!!!!

Because they have become what is also known as secular progressives.
So they can't say NO to any one
such as no to gay marriage no to terrorists yes to prayer in school NO to foot baths in airports
Basically they want every one to do what ever they want to each other and be happy except Christians and we are supposed to sit in the corner and say nothing.

Your argument is flawed be cause the Republicans Ideology doesn't Jive with real Constitutionalists. Republicans have fought to limit our personal freedoms for years. It's because of republicans that we no longer have the Constitutional protection of "unreasonable search and seizure." If you were a true Constitutionalists you would know this.

I believe it is just your perspective.

"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people"

Are you saying dems are immoral atheists? Are you saying repubs are the only people with morals and religion? There are muslims with morals, education and virtue, are they welcome.

added. stick to the musical questions, they cause less division. They are also more comprehensible
