No way, babies are like adults....they will let you know when they are hungry.

No, do not wake a baby up to sleep. I know there are mixed opinions on this topic... but a baby needs to sleep, too, and I think a baby developing good sleep habits early on helps them sleep better later. A baby will wake and gives hunger cues when he is hungry... he'll let you know. My 7 week old sleeps through the night already.. he's a breastfed baby. I never wake him in the middle of the night to feed.

My eldest did 8 hours a night from birth! She used to feed a lot on an evening, until she went down at 10.30pm, then she didn't want another feed until 6.30am!
She didn't sleep all night, though, she'd wake up and play with her activity centres, so I'd leave her unless she needed me!
The only concern would be if your baby wasn't putting weight on properly. If weighed weekly, you'd soon know if there was a problem!
Also, it could be an unnecessary stress for your baby and I'm sure you could do with the sleep!
Check with your doctor if you have any doubts, but most normal, healthy babies will always wake up for a feed.
Get your doctor to check out your baby first if you have any worries or doubts.
Happy parenting!

The baby will wake up if they are hungry. Babies sleep alot. I am not a doctor, and if the sleeping so much is a worry call the babies Doctor, they can advise better than anyone on here. I do think they may have a limit on how long the baby should go without eating, but remember they will sleep alot.

If your baby is not being fed enough, I would wake her up. If you're not worried about your baby losing weight, I would just let her sleep longer.
When my son was born, he had problem gaining weight. He also didn't eat much, so we woke him up by the 4th hour if he didn't wake up 2-3 hrs after his last feeding. After 6 months, my son was finally gaining weight for his age, so we just allowed him to sleep longer, so we can sleep longer.

NO...I was told at the hospital to wake my son up every two hours for a feeding. I asked around...bad idea. My son started sleeping through the night at 2-1/2 weeks old. He's go down at 9pm and wake up again at 7pm. I was told by some pretty experienced mothers that they will wake up when they are hungry. I left it at that. MY son thrived fromt he get go. Don't wake up for feedings...she is making her own schedule for you, and it sounds like you got a pretty good one going.

well if its night time and baby sleeps 6 hous plus i say enjoy it!
I have 3 kids and they have always woken up when they are hungry, night, day whenever...
it depends on the amount of milk she drank prior to going to sleep.
my third child used to dring all day and all night, i never got any peace....then i changed the milk and she started sleeping for long periods of time. my health visitor said that as she was sleeping more than 6 hours i should wake her and offer her milk. then its up to the baby...
it used to be that babies were fed every four hours at specific times a day but that view has changed. now they say feed on demand but i would get her up after 4 hours and offer it whether she woke or not. maybe you should ask your health visitor what they think.

Does she sleep 6 hours at night? Then that's good. If it's during the daytime, don't let the baby sleep more than 3 hours. I WOULD DEFINETLY wake up the baby. You want the baby to sleep more at night and not in during the daytime. Good Luck!

Yes you must fix the time or intervals after 2 or 3 hours you must feed her. No Need to wake up the baby you will feed her even if she is sleeping. Usually when you bath your baby after massage, that time babies take the long sleep. So you must fix the time after 2 hrs, or three hours but after feed milk hold her on your shoulder so that she digest the milk if soon after you make her sleep she may vomit.

As long as she is eating well when she is awake and still gaining weight, let her sleep. Babies go through all sorts of cycles. In 3 weeks you will be back here trying to figure out how to get her to sleep! I am a mom x's 3. Enjoy the sleep!

If you are breastfeeding, do not let her sleep for more than 8 hours unless you pump. Otherwise, let her sleep at night. During the day, I would wake her after 2-3 hours so she sleeps at night.
