You can do it online through the Selective Service website. There is not a draft, and hasn't been for longer than you've been alive. This is just an obligation for adult males in the United States between ages 18 through 25. If there is a draft, Selective Service will use these lists. If you fail to do it, you will have a hard time getting federally backed student loans, civil service jobs, and other benefits.

You will find the forms for selective services at the post office. It is basically a data base in case the draft ever gets re-instated. The last time a bill to re-instate the draft was about two years ago Sen Rangel Dem NY, voted against HIS own bill and asked others to do the same. He was just playing politics with the draft. I see no reason the draft will be re instituted in the near future.

You have to register for the draft in the US. Contact the Selective Service Administration for forms. There may also be forms at your nearest US post office.

Just go down and register for selective service. Thats the only thing you have to do.

As far as your birthday being in August. No big deal, its not like they are going to come hunt you down and throw you in jail. Just go on down and do it sometime in the very near future.
