The American politicians know about the rest of the world as do the church es and schools etc. but as a whole people with same knowledge the answer would be no, because we all live in different states , We can all be called together to hear what the world news does report. So, at any given time our attention can become as one to see the world.

In my experience there are many Americans who aren't very good at geography, but is anyone. I'm educated but still don't know where everything is on the map. Maybe it has something to do with the country being so vast, one state is probably the size of England. Saying that, this is an extreme example of a lack of education, and awareness of other places in the world, but he did say he is learning so lets hope it continues and he enjoys what London has to offer.

1/4 gamble everyday and never look up from the felt, 1/4 are so busy that they can't pay attention, 1/4 really don't give a rat's..... so......that leaves only 1/4 of the population to know what's really going on. Now...only 1/2 are of the 1/4 are truly informed, leaving the other half aware. Only half of that number actually do something about it. 'nuff said?

Actually most of the answers to your question lead me to believe that the real ignorance in the world is anywhere but the US.
We are the greatest country in the world despite all of the political correctness around us and the corruption of our politicians. Most of us seem to rise above it and live pretty productive and happy lives. Leave the failure of some of our schools directly in the laps of politically correct pols.
It seems a lot of people like to throw darts at US. I wonder why? Its not envy is it?

Somehow I doubt the educational level of a pro football player is indicative of the rest of the population. Besides, this story begs the real question, we know they speak English in London, but do they speak it in Georgia?

I don't think the Americans learn as much geography in school as a lot of other countries. In Canada we learned much about the U.S. and the rest of the world. We have a comedian, Rick Mercer, who has done documentary type shows asking Americans different questions about Canada and Canadians and they were clueless. We are one of their closest neighbours yet they don't know the names of our provinces, our Prime Minister etc etc etc. Quite interesting and comical shows even though they probably edited out the ones that answered the questions correctly.

If all of this is true, why does the rest of the world work so hard to be like us?
Is the ignorance you accuse us of truly blissful?
If you say that you don't try to be like us,then why do you wear blue jeans, drink Coke, and why do you care?
I don't care what you wear, what you drink, or what you learn in school.
The only time you come to my attention is when something is wrong. Then I care, and I will put some energy into trying to help.
I am an American, and left to our own devices, we will tend to mind our own business.
We assume that the rest of the world is pretty much like us, and if they need help they will ask for it, so we don't spend much time trying to micromanage it. You are grown-ups too. We figure that you can keep your own houses in order.
