I am now 36weeks pregnant. At 34 weeks me and my husband had been for dinner at Hard Rock restaurant. The music was very loud there and we sat there for an hour. I had worn a jacket to muffle the loudness from baby. I didn't know how dangerous the loud music is for baby. Will this affect my baby's hearing? Please, share your experience or what you know about it....
Thanks

LOL. no its not going to effect the baby in any long term way. Very VERY loud music, music so loud that you would not want to hear it, for very long periods of time, can cause fetal stress. Simply because of the bass concussion, but its not a finalized study.

The baby is so well insulated from sound that all of it is defused before it reaches him or her.

The baby will be completely fine. So many women go to extremely loud places, while they're pregnant. I'll be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and I'm also going to a concert tomorrow night. And my seats/it's the pit area are right by the stage. And I know for a fact the baby will be just fine. I'm not the first girl to do this.

(No, I'm not irresponsible like everybody thinks. I'm staying in the back of the pit, where nobody ever is because everybody always fights to get to the front where all of the moshing is. I go to this concert every year and always have pit tickets, so I know what its like. And there's only so many pit tickets sold, so it's not like it's majorly overloaded with people.)

Oh goodness - I think the baby is fine....the baby is in a sack of water which muffles most sounds. When I was PG, I was out at the bar country line dancing every weekend. OB said no problem. My daughter loves music - don't know if that's related or not.

The amniotic sac protects your baby from all that. In fact, the sac in itself creates a loud swooshing sound all the time, which why some babies find noises like vacuum cleaners and fans soothing.
I went to see KISS when I was 7 months pregnant, and the only problem my daughter had after she was born was that her toungue stuck out slightly all the time up till she was about 4 months old.... just like Gene Simmons!

There should be no ill effects on your baby. Many women work in loud atmospheres during pregnancy.

It's pretty muffled in there. Think about all the inside noises that are going on *he he*

Everything will be okay.

Your baby would only hear muffled sounds...it's actually quite noisy in the womb. Your baby's hearing will not be affected by any of this. You could go to a rock concert...don't worry about it.

I don't believe you have anything to worry about. Your baby's hearing is muffled by the amniotic fluid, your uterus, and skin and fat layers, so the loud sound you hear, is greatly reduced for your baby's ears....similar to hearing under water.

I went to two Blue October concerts during my pregnancy, granted I didn't hang out close to the stage. My doctor said it was fine.

If you are worried, tell your concerns to your OB.

Good luck and congrats!
