Usually the issue is with the water valve or the "mixing valve" where your hot and cold water fill hoses connect to the back of the unit is the valve. You will need your model number to get the right part though. YOu can go to apdepot.com to find the part number for your machine.

Turn off the cold water supply valve. Disconnect the hose at the washer. Hold the hose into a container and turn the valve on to make sure the faucet is working. If so, look at the inlet connection on the washer. There is usually a screen strainer either in the inlet or on the end of the hose. Make sure it is clean. If all is good, it could be a faulty inlet valve inside the washer. Good luck.

Normally the problem is simple if there are no issues with your fill valve on the washing machine itself. First, please check to see if the cold water is turned on for the washing machine. if it is, then turn it back off, and try it again. If that doesn't work, trun off the cold water completely, remove the hose and check to see if any debris has clogged up the cold water inlet or hose. If that is not the problem, take the cold water hose off, connect it to the hot water side to ensure there is no issues with the hose, or the inlet of water. If all of these things fail, then I'm suggesting there are issues with the inlet valve on your washing machine. If you are not a handy-man, then you will need a repairman. However, you can check the supply house yourself to find out the cost of the part. I will note that buying parts online for washing machines and dryers is not necessarily cheaper, and certainly not better.

Turn off the cold and hot water supply lines and unscrew the hoses. Check to see if there are small mesh screens in the end of the hose, if so then remove them and clean them. These are to keep sediment out of your washing machine and will often times get clogged and prevent water from flowing into your washer. If you dont have a clogged screen or dont have a screen you might put a small pan under the cold faucet with the hose disconneted and turn it on slightly to see if water actually comes out of the spigot. If so then its a clog between there and yoru washer, if not then you have a plumbing problem.

It could be either a physical problem or an electronic one. Try to cover the physical first by ensuring the water outlets are fully open and if they are 'switched' hot for cold, does the problem still happen? If you're happy with the water source and pressure and flow, plus none of the filters are blocked, then there must a trip switch not opening the cold flow inlet at the right time in the wash-cycle, and that will require a call-out from a technician.

check that your valve is open. check for kinks in the cold water hose. then unhook the hose from the valve and check the screen (just inside the hose, this can get clogged with lime deposites, etc...)
