Washington -- Legalizing the opium poppy crop in Afghanistan would be disastrous for that country and for the world, a U.S. State Department official says.

Not finding any nuclear material in Afghanistan does not mean that al Qaeda did not obtain radioactive material. Al Qaeda could have moved valuable nuclear material out of Afghanistan or into secret hiding places in remote portions of the country. Nuclear material used in nuclear weapons or in many radiological dispersal devices is easy to transport. Given that most of the al Qaeda leadership escaped U.S. capture, it would be foolhardy to assume that al Qaeda would have left behind its valuable radioactive material.

We went to Afghanastan to get Bin Laden and drive out the Taliban. We didn't go to Afghanastan to be their police force and drug enforcement agency. You think we should be handing out speeding tickets as well?
As to the rest of your question, neither since the other thing we did was to make Afghansatan a friend and allie. Neat how that 'impose freedom' thing pays dividends, isn't it?

I fear nuclear weapons in general more then heroine. Heroine addiction is a choice. I don't believe that people shouldn't be helped, but they did make the choice.

I think it's GHOSTS we should fear.
It was bad enough when the TV and lights inexplicably flicked on at night, Misty Conrad says. When her daughter began talking to an unseen girl named Nicole and neighbors said children had been murdered in the house, it was time to move.
Put Conrad, a homemaker from Hampton, Va., firmly in the camp of the 34% of people who say they believe in ghosts, according to a pre-Halloween poll by The Associated Press and Ipsos. That's the same proportion who believe in unidentified flying objects — exceeding the 19% who accept the existence of spells or witchcraft.
Forty-eight percent believe in extrasensory perception, or ESP. But nearly half of you knew we were about to tell you that, right?
Conrad, now 40, lived in Syracuse, Ind., when her family was scared from the house they rented.
To put the roughly one-third who believe in ghosts and UFOs in perspective, it's about the same as, in recent AP-Ipsos polls, the 36% who said they are baseball fans; the 37% who said the U.S. made the right decision to invade Iraq; and the 31% who approve of the job President Bush is doing.

the unlucky fact is that our troops are to do each little thing plausible to sidestep killing non warring events in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Taliban are utilising the comparable tricks the Viet cong used - conceal at the back of civilians and attack. there is too plenty politics, the troops could desire to settle for a mandate,a plan, the time, funds and kit to do the interest and bypass residing house as promptly as plausible. The democrats controlled the two residences of congress the final 2 years of the Bush administration, antagonistic the wars and persevered to fund them and deliver in greater troops too. Obama stated he could deliver the troops residing house interior sixteen months of happening of work and we are nonetheless struggling with 2 wars and he's sending greater troops into Afghanistan and the congress nonetheless funds the wars. He opted for the Bush contract with Iraq for troop withdrawal. I learn the order on various cyber web information articles and that they stated they want the Taliban would not discover out with reference to the order. BethanyJ: Al Sharpton became into speaking approximately reinstating the draft returned for the period of the mid term elections that gave the democrats administration of congress the final 2 years of the Bush administration. the three years of provider Obama is touching on has not something to with the draft, that's "community provider"like forcing electorate to "volunteer" for Habitat for Humanity and different issues in return for credit in the direction of a school training or nutrition and wellbeing care, housing, and so on.

Nuclear Weapons. Heroin isn't going to hurt you if you don't put it in your arm.
Turkey just bombed Iraq, that's more of a threat than Afghanistan.

Neither. The Taliban had opium nearly eradicated when we invaded. They can barely afford food, so I don't think they can afford nukes. Insurgents on the other hand are whom you should fear. They have no ties to no country.
