My oldest fell back asleep this morning and this caused my youngest to be late to school - I drop the oldest off first, then the youngest....

Hindsight being 20/20, I should've dropped the youngest off first and let the oldest be the one with Tardy on their attendance record....

Honestly, there's no reason you should have to wake up your teenager. Teach him/her to be responsible for themselves, by buying them an alarm clock. You're right, you should have dropped the youngest off at school first .. it wasn't fair to them, to be the one that suffers the consequences of the older child's choices.

Should the older child be punished? No .. let it go this time, as long as this is the first time they've done this. :)

Punish is a strong word for simply falling back asleep in the morning.
