There's a push by parents to have a "China Free Christmas" this year. I would think this would hurt Fischer Price, actually all of Mattel, severely.
The question is WHY did they outsource to China? Cheaper goods? Cheaper labor? Cheaper rent? The ability to produce cheaper toys? A bigger bottom line? Is this worth the safety of American children?

It sure would have been a better idea for them to have left the major manufacturing in the US. The issues they have had this year have damaged their credibility as a company, and with the holiday shopping season coming up, many parents are thinking twice about purchasing their products.

Well, most companies wouldn't call a 20+ percent drop in stock prices in the last 6 months "success"....so, yeah, they should have left the manufacturing here.
The higher manufacturing costs would have probably been less than the stock/reputation/recall costs.

It would have been better for our children if they had left the manufacturing here in the USA and better for our economy.
what should we expect from China? they throw their own people out in the streets and tear down their homes to build buildings to make toxic toys for our children to play with and they wont stop hurting us or their own people until we stop buying the crap made there.Greed is a cancer and china has it bad

No it is better to outsource and then collect under business insurance that covers such loses .They paid millions in premiums to cover just such loses and now are getting a return from that expenditure . This will offset the actual sales that were predicted to fall by almost 11% this holiday season .

How many people will remember the recall at Christmas Time? That is, like 2 months away.
So I do not think in the long term they will be hurt. And recalls happened often. Cars made in the U.S. get recalled. So should we ship jobs overseas because American made products have to be recalled?

Yes, I personally don't care for outsourcing of any US jobs. But I do understand that in the communities they reside in they are literally taxed out of the country. I would prefer they just relocate to an area that would pacify the community and the Corporation in order to keep the jobs here.

The outsourcing will eventually crush our economy. The key for a vibrant economy is for money to continually change hands. Although the prices would be higher if manufactured here, the wages paid to the employees would be used to buy other products. Once that money leaves the country it is drained from our economy and injected into theirs

If a Zionst run company doesn't publicize this unless it wants to.
It is trying stir up distrust between Americans and Chinese.
but unlike the Zionist the Chinese have no history of interfering in other countires' affairs.

No Brian, these were design flaws that led to these recalls.
I applaud Fisher-Price taking jobs offshore to where they can get it cheaper and maximizing on profits, those damn dirty liberal union fisher price workers should have worked for 1.50 an hour to keep their job
Damn dirty liberal Brian
