i think theres a number of factors. like why the woman hit the man in the first place, and also if the man is sure that if he hits her is he going to cause her real damage. generally though hitting for any circumstance rarely solves problems but the man should only hit her back if A) the woman is hitting him for no good reason and B) If he's sure that he's not going to hurt her more than she hurt him.

First and foremost a woman a should never hit a man because some men act off of reflexes so they may strike her before he even realizes what he has done. However, a man should not hit a woman back he should walk away.

Self control is what is needed. Hitting should not occur from a women to a man or a man to a women, anyone who resorts to hitting has low self control and does not know how to resolve situations calmly and rationally.
However, if a woman did hit a man, he should be a man and not retaliate.

I think that if a woman hits a man it depends on the situation because a real man would not put there hands on a woman. they are physically stronger than a woman but on the other hand a woman just cant cant keep hitting the man and dont espect da man to hit her a** bak

Well, hitting doesn't solve anything in the first place...

I feel that women generally want equality with men. That being said, I feel that if a woman hits someone she should expect a return punch regardless of who the target is. That's equality right? You can't be selective because then you are diminishing your own stance on equality. Just a random thought. I always got annoyed by the fem-nazi's when I was in college because they were selective about their stance on equality, and then they made a point to treat men like garbage. That tells me that according to their behavior, it is ok for men to devalue women if women feel it is ok to devalue men.
Personally I don't hit, and I value men and women equally... (although I do have more male friends and I married one... ;)

The man should be man enough to take it and walk away... far far away. however men tend to be fighters and have a natural response to being attacked is to defend oneself by fighting back. Its not excusable if he hits a woman, but the woman is just asking for trouble hitting a man. It's stupid.

no one should be hitting anyone else. but i guess it depends on the character of the man, some would walk away and some will hit back, same goes for women. it's not about sex it's about their personality and moral standards. if a woman hits a woman what will the second woman do? depends on the person.

I agree with Queenservilla, if you are willing to hit someone you should be prepared to get hit back, regardless whether it is a woman hitting a man, she shouldnt just think she can use violence because she is a woman!!

I think any REAL man would know enough to walk away. I don't care what she did first, there is NEVER a good excuse for a man to lay a hand on a woman, or the other way around for that matter.

If you hit someone, you should expect to get hit back. Some people can't control their response to violence and will just swing blindly. In the long run, no one should hit anyone. It's wrong, and I think it's a sign of weakness, not strength.
