Nudism is something people are born with.
A lot of people like to repress their nudist roots and 'choose' to wear clothes.

it's a lifestyle darling.
If it's a religion, then who they'd worship? It's a way of life, coming from a way of certain perspective.
To be a religion, there must be a god to worship, a holy book for guidance, and the believers to the first item. Nudism doesn't have any.

Well there are people who practice it religiously I suppose, but it is either a lifestyle, or a component of one.
Just as there are introverted and extroverted people, there are some who enjoy 'shedding the shackles' of their clothing.
A nudist can be religious, or irreligious for that matter. Whether a desire for freedom, an erotic desire, or a desire to shock or rebell against cultural norms, religion may or may not be a component of anyone's life, nudist or not. Its a sort of 'apples and oranges' thing.

Nudism by itself is a lifestyle, but can be incorporated into someone's religious or spiritual beliefs.

Lifestyle.
Many participate in an almost religious manner, but it is not a religion.

Nudism is a more natural lifestyle. The practice can be incorporated into spiritual, or religious activity. The definition of religion doesn't require a deity to pray to, for example a Deist. It can be a spiritual pursuit period, or a quest into a higher consciousness, or integration into the true nature of things. There is a mistaken belief that the tax code definition and the1st Amendment definition are the same. Also, the western perspective doesn't always understand these religions and assumes. The first amendment calls for spiritual practices and nudism or naturism can be an important part of that for some of us. It can be a religious practice, or just pursuit of happiness.
Nudist don't have to follow anything, or anyone. They just have to enjoy being naked. Social nudist have restrictions, like don't stare, put a towel down to sit, or ask before photography. It is all practical social customs.
