Getting rid of mice?
Over the past three months, I have seen a total of 16 mice in my apartment and have caught 13. Please dont reply with this is the time of year for them to be entering homes... 16 is a little rediculous and this has been going on since summer. None of my neighbors have seen any, just me! What should I do for this?! I have a baby at home, and am sickened to think that he could be crawling around on mice feces. yuck! I have spoke with the landord and they set traps... 5 mice caught since the traps were laid. They also told me that my cat is the best deterrant... my cat is useless.. he doesnt even bother with the mice! Any suggestions???!! Thank you so very much. :)

There are poisons with ingredients to kill mice and keep them ODOR free.
Keep in mind children & small animals such as dogs & cats may eat the poison pellets~ or pets may eat the poisoned mice and be harmed as well.
Do not use glue traps as they lay there alive and kicking till you kill them or they starve, dehydrate or drown in the sticky glue trying to free themselves.
Cats can catch mice, but this will not completely disguard them all.
Mousetraps work fast, but need to be monitored incase just a leg is the only thing caught and it is still alive.
Place steelwool pads into holes under sinks that allow mice into the house from outside. They cant eat thru steelwool.
I have placed straight cayanne pepperin areas where I have seen evidence of mouse feces.
(Remember the children and other small pets with the pepper, too.)
This really worked well!
I place poison under the house and in areas where my pets cannot get to them. I use the poison that neutralizes odors.
This works best for me since I live in the boondocks and on a farm. Hope this helps...

Boy can I sympathize!

Find the gaps in your apartment and stuff them with steel wool so the mice can't come in. This includes around pipes. And if the mice go anywhere that your baby can't reach- I normally don't advocate this, but use DeCon. or some other rat poison.

Good luck!

Mice have a natural aversion to MINT. You can pot some mint in little pots in your house or you can buy spearmint seeds and sprinkle them where you think the mice may be. Peppermint oil on a cotton ball works as well.

Buy a rat trap from home depot or walmart.
years ago, may be 25- 30 years ago, one of our neighbour gave us a red small bar looks like eraser ( that contain rat poison in it). oh boy! that worked with in a week we were rat free. But those rat poison is not available in market any more.

Whatever you do, don't buy glue traps!!!! Glue Traps are inhumane and cause the animal pain and suffering. Glue Traps can cause the animal to suffocate - if the animals' mouth gets caught on the trap. These traps do not discriminate and because of their sticky nature can catch and injure/kill any other animal that may be near it as well. I would like to take the person who invented these and put him on one and see how they feel. There is an excellent review complaint located at http://www.amazon.com/Glue-Trap-Rats-GLUE-RATS-2/dp/B000AYHKVS Also check out the links at http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=glue+traps+are+inhumane
