well i started when i was about 11.....I'm 21 now..I'm still irregular..I'm guessing it will stay that way unless you get on birth control to straighten it out. I like having it irregular cause i don't have a period as often! I can tell when I'm going to start because about a week before I do, my boobs get sore and I feel some cramps...and MOOD SWINGS...whew! that's a sure sign. If you don't get any symptoms, that would be hard to tell..but i can guess down to the second when i'm going to start. as soon as the cramps start up real bad, i know next time i use the bathroom i'll be starting.

I started menstruating when I was about 13 and I was normal but I am now 19 and irregular so now I decided to use the patch to make my period regular but I cant start using it until I get my period. I suggest you take some type of birth control to make it regular.

I was 10 when I started having periods. 4th grade and I was clueless and in alot of pain. and I haven't had a regular cycle in the last 11 years. Except on the patch (didn't like, not on it now). If you want regular periods ask about birth control to regulate. It's what I was told at your age. But if you keep an record of it you can kind of guess about when you should start preparing.

Hmm... you might still be adjusting to your period and they may become regular later. But you should tell your doctor that they are irregular next time you see him or her. One of my friends had the same problem, and she found out she had PCOS, a disease that one in every 10 woman has. She has to take medication to make her periods normal. So, you should definitely ask your doctor, but it's not neccessarily a problem.

Hope this helps!

i had the same problem i started having a menstual cycle at 14 and by 18 it still was not regular so i got on birth control and that made it regular. i tried getting off of it after 3 years and went right back to irregular so i got back on it.

Hey, I know plenty of people who NEVER got a regular period. It's always been a less-than pleasant surprise for them. Two possiblities though - are you underweight for your age and/or very athletic? Also, are you pretty stressed out fairly often? That can make the situation worse, but it is also possible that your body is still trying to find a hormonal balance. If it bothers you enough, you can try to regulate it with birth control, but only with the consent of your parents and practitioner, of course.

That is still normal. Give it time. Some girls aren't regular until they are in their 20s. If it's that annoying, you can always talk to your doctor and ask him for birth control pills.

i'm 34 and have the same prob. it's the reason i didn't figure out i was pregnant until i was 18 weeks. see ur gp or gynie and see if going on the pill (or the mini pill) will help to regulate ur period.
