I'm a Conservative and I'm opposed to the nanny state which in the main comes from the left wing in politics. You talk about censorship of pornography as coming from Conservatives yet there is a long history of left wing feminists who describe it as using women and want it banned. I personal don't think it is a bad thing sex is a natural part of human nature and for many male and female pornography participating and viewing is a great and liberating experience.

In the wacky world of cons, the government can't manage health care, disasters or anything else because that would be a "nanny state" but it should tell you what drugs to take, who to marry and have sex with and what kind of media to buy (and somehow that's not a nanny state?). Cons have an insane sense of "logic."

Pornography is not illegal unless it involves underage people. It is permitted but it should be controlled. In fact I am all for pornography. What I am against is the porification of movies and TV shows. I would be all for providing all the porn you wish to abuse yourself to, if Hollywood and TV land would exclude sex from regular movies and TV shows. in fact I would willingly subsidize it for you.

Porn has its place. But that place is not on TV or movie theaters where children may see it.

They are meddling with free-market capitalism and that is unlike what Goldwater would do. Republicans are like Democrats in the fact they want to tell us what to do in our lives. Conservatives want to regulate our television shows to bring back 'family hour' and ban pornography. What about capitalism? It shows how their 'Christian morality' has destroyed whatever fiscal conservatism there used to be.

I don't see any banning going on. Now, there are proper places and ways to buy or sell pornography so the kids can't get at it.
But, if you are advocating that there is nothing wrong with graphic and explicit sex in videos and magazines, you are just dead wrong and are in desperate need of a serious attitued ajustment.
This stuff is sickening and there is no way I want any child to be exposed to this kind of @*)%!+&^%.

And if you want to accuse conservatives of all the banning stuff, in the mid 1980's Tipper Gore made headlines with her group that advocated warning labels and banning certain rock &roll songs and albums.
Get it together!

What are you talking about. The only thing they want to ban is access to porn sites in the public libraries. Of course there are some that want to ban any kind of porn but then there always have been. They do not speak for the entire republican party.

This conservative doesn't care. I think that we're all capable of policing ourselves and that parents should be responsible enough to police their children. No nanny state for me, dear sir!

Most do not care. This is a few radicals like Jerry Falwell who is only taken seriously by other radicals and the liberals who think they can use these morons to define conservatives.

412...great point. I would LOVE to debate Obama on that one.

Funny thing is that there are as many or more liberals that want this. I am conservative and dont want these things banned but do think there is a place for them and places they dont belong. Who was that woman that was all into censorship again??? Oh Tipper Gore. How could I forget.
