This is very ridiculous and an example of how our country is ruining the future of our youth, needlessly overburdening our prisons and making criminals out of young teens. I just saw the story on the georgia teenager who was sentenced to a 10 yr jail sentence for consectual oral sex at a party. The guy was 17 and the girl 15 at the time.

This is nothing but a ridiculous sentence that does nothing but ruin lives. And it pains me to think that some green eyed kid ends up spending 2 years in jail and may come out a little more hardened and exposed to the world of crime.
What do you think about the sentence, not the eventual overturn?

Utterly ridiculous and dramatic. The judge should go to jail.

I surely have an 18 365 days old and we've been all 18 at sometime and 15, yet I agree a sentence like it is exceptionally heavy. i desire to have confidence that if a woman, 15 or sixteen and above is prepared and participates, she is in charge for her strikes besides. we are ll human and youthful young ones have no experience 0.5 the time with reference to intercourse, that is in basic terms that, no longer making love !

I think you must be a liberal- "ruining the lives of teens" give me a break, all I can pictureright now is a 5 year old not getting their way and whining to their parents "you're ruining my life!!!" drama drama drama

you know what is ruining the lives of children?
the continually rising rates of STDs, the rising rates of infertility and problems associated with yoing girls taking birth control pills (often the results are not seen until much later in life) the rising rates of teen pregnancy, child abuse , neglect and poverty due to children not being able to take care of children, the emotional burdens carried, sometimes throughout life by young girls and guys who at 14, 15, 16 years old, thought they could handle an intimate sexual relationship but did not count the physical and emotional consequences, young boys running around, pretending to be men and taking advantage of girls who have no fathers to protect them then raising another , larger generation of young girls with no fathers, society making sex a casual, no consequences game rather than an act of intimacy that requires a great responsibility-- I could go on and on but if you don't have the point by now then you are just that little 5 yo whining about not getting their way- THAT is what is ruining the life of our children and it is about time someone cracked down on these cavalier little boys who have no respect for women and no respect for themselves that they would take advantage of a young girl rather than treat her with honor and decency because if he cannot control himself at 17, it only goes downhill from there!

This is totally way over blown and the children's behavior and discipline should be handled by their parents. The only "sex crimes" that should be legislated are rape and child molestation.
