ok wel my girlfriend has had a job sense she was 16.. shes working about 15 hours a week.. were both in college and both 18 years old.. for the past 7 months i have applyed at like 30+ places.. and i just cant get hired.. which is odd because im very nice.. and im a well rounded guy..but anyways .. my girlfriend has a neihbor*.. and hes to old to do things himself so i have been doing odd jobs around the house for him. for $10 an hour.. i made about $100 jsut last week.. so should i keep working for him? or should i get a real cashier job? i feel useless cuz i dont go to work lol

and when i get my first job... like a real job.. i wont be able to put any experience down.. because i wouldnt have any =/ help!

You can put your work experience you have with the elderly gentleman. I'm sure you do maintenance, driving(delivery), waiter, carpentry, I'm sure you do more than you think you do. If you shop for him that's cashiering

Put this sort of thing down as experience etc but do go for a proper job with a guaranteed wage, you will feel better and will have a steady income, when you have been there about a year or so then you can apply for another more senior position and that will count as valuable experience as well, and if you want to do the odd job at the w/ends for this person for the odd couple if bucks then do it?
Don't worry though because if you were useless you wouldn't be helping the old man and worrying about getting to work. Strikes me you are a good kid, and are ready to move out of the shallows into the stream now, go for it! :-) love from Dot.x.

Ask the gentleman that you are working for if he would write you a letter of recommendation, listing as many different varieties of experience as possible!! Look at the bright side at least you have some income until you are able to find something else!!
