but I don't really know much about it or many good things to do there. Can anyone help me with some good places to visit?

I know you said South America, but have you ever been to my America (USA)? It has everything and I will tell you a few. We have beautiful Rocky mountains, rolling wheat fields, rivers and lakes, just to name a few. Listen to the song This Land is Your Land and that tells it all. Am I proud to be an American, you bet I am?

Why would you ask about Canada and South America in the United States forum? Rather than worrying about being more clear with your question, you'd be better off asking it in the correct forum.

The United States of America is a federal constitutional republic comprising fifty states and a federal district. The country is situated almost entirely in the western hemisphere: its forty-eight contiguous states and Washington, D.C., the capital district, lie in central North America between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, bordered by Canada to the north and Mexico to the south; the state of Alaska is in the northwest of the continent with Canada to its east, and the state of Hawaii is in the mid-Pacific. The United States also possesses fourteen territories, or insular areas, that are scattered around the Caribbean and Pacific.
At 3.79 million square miles and with over 300 million people, the United States is the third or fourth largest country by total area, and third largest by land area and by population. The United States is one of the world's most ethnically diverse nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. Its national economy is the largest in the world, with a nominal 2006 gross domestic product (GDP) of more than US$13 trillion

What do you like to do? There's something for just about everyone here.
If you like cities, art, and culture, I recommend visiting New York, Boston, or Chicago.
For nature, check out Maine, Alaska, the West, and most of our National Parks, like The Great Smokey Mountains, Yellowstone, and many others.
If you like music, then Nashville, Tennessee; or Autin, Texas, might be the place for you.
For flash, entertainment, and gambling: Las Vegas.
For beaches: Southern California, Florida, the Carolinas, or Hawaii.
