If you've ever done customer service or any other kind of work on the phone, it gears you to NOT hang up just because someone is being mean. You aren't a loser because you didn't hang up on the person.

Hanging up the phone is the best way to solve this problem, giving them the dial tone is a great reply to their abusive behavior, however, I don't often follow my own advise, but take it to the next level.
I find out where they live and order three dozen pizzas for them, cash on delivery! And, before they arrive at his house, I call him back and ask him "Are you Hungry"?

If someone is coursing bother to you on the phone, put the phone down, if it continues and you dont know who it is dial 141 for the number, report that number to have it blocked, and in you really feel bad, change your number. If it continues report to the police. It was done to my wife and i and the person was warned by the police, then a Court Order to stop, it worked.

I hold the phone an arms length away and let them get it out of their system..then I hang up without saying a word...

If someone was mean to me on the phone I'd most likely talk some shti back to them and then hang up. That's the type of person I am.

Not gonna smack you babe. You give me the number and I will make them apologize to you. When it gets to that point, I say that I don't need to take this and I am letting you go now and hang up.
