Politicians change their positions more than Jenna Jameson does. Its tough to find one that is consistent over a 4 year period... let alone 20 years. I found this clip of Ron Paul from 20 years ago talking about the exact same issues he talks about today. That is admirable IMO and demands respect.

Yes, I like Huckabee's stance on many issues. I just don't know if he's sincere or telling us what we want to hear. Check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReVAk_IxLVM

Yeah, his name is Ron Paul! Check him out!

This guy is hella bad ***. This is the stuff we need to get our country back in place, on the straight and narrow. We have overextended ourselves too much! We need to get back to common sense!

Ron Paul and Mike Huckabee seem to be the most consistent in their views. Tom Tancredo has been pretty consistent, too, with the only hiccup coming immediately after Columbine and he changed his pro-gun rights position for a short time. Even though I don't agree with him, what little attention I've paid to John Edwards leads me to believe he's been pretty consistent - if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me and I appreciate it. But candidates like Hillary, Rudy, Romney, and Fred Thompson all seem to go back and forth on the issues. Any candidates I didn't mention, I don't know enough about.

This makes you wonder why the "front-runners" all flip-flop while the "dark horses" generally seem to be consistent.

And I'm talking about serious issues - 2nd Amendment, Iraq, taxes, etc. - not issues like gay marriage and abortion - those are issues of morality and should not be decided by the government.

Politics is complicated. A congressmember might vote for a bill they don't really like because they feel it's the best that can be accomplished at the time. Or maybe they trade a vote on that bill for a vote on one they feel is more important. Or they want to show solidarity with the party so they can accomplish longer-term goals. Maybe new information comes out that affects their vote. Or, heck, maybe they just changed their mind. Like the saying goes, if you never change your mind, how do you know you have one?

Conditions change! And opinions change. Have you never changed your mind on a political or civic issue? I can accept a politician or a business person changing an opinion based on fact or a change in information. If you never consider and reconsider an issue your brain stagnates.

Well I don't think that politicians are the only ones. Find me any one person who hasn't changed some position over the span of his lifetime. Everyone does, it's human nature....no ones perfect.

I agree. The only other one is Huckabee. He's amazing. Have you looked him up?
