I was caught underage drinking and I have to decide within 15 days to go to Juvenile hall for 5 days or my parents pay a $250.00 fine and I have to do community service for 12 weeks - But if I screw up I go to juvi hall for 30 days. What should I do. Some of my friends say take the 5 days in juvi and get it done with its nothing Has anyone ever been sent to juvinille hall and what is it like. Thanks

5 days plus as you said if you mess up during the 12 weeks you get thirty days, likely you will mess up then you did the work for nothing and have to stay in 6 times longer.

Plus 5 days is 5 days not 60 days of work and possibly 30 days in Juvi.

Take the five days.
It will either make you,
or break you.

For me, as a teen I would have done
the 12 weeks of community service.

Being around a brunch of juvi's
would have gotten on my last nerve.

It sounds to me like you're not even going to try not to "screw up".
If that's the case, then do the five days and get it over with.
But ask them to keep a place for you because you probably will be back. If not for screwing up then for something else like drunk driving or something equally stupid.
I'm sure your parents are proud.

5 days may be the route to go.

Hope you won't put yhourself (and your parents) thru this again. If you must drink, drink water!
