What do you think the patriots have to do in order to win the colts? Vise versa what does colts have to do to win the pats?

I really feel like the pats got this one because manning is the type of QB that panics and when you panic you through interceptions. That is an advantage for the pats. Please people keep it professional1

I would like to hear form others that are not a colts or Patriots fan. It's always easier to pick your team to win.

It's definitely not going to be a rout by either team. This will be a close game right down to the very end. The winning team will probably score in the low 30's and the losing team in the high 20's.

I'd say the balance scale is slightly tipped in the Colts favor since the game is at home for them. Brady hasn't seen much pressure so far this season. And when he has he hasn't done well against the pass rush. With Indy's Tampa 2 type defense the Patriots aren't going to be able to pass for the long bomb throws like against their other opponents. That means they are going to have to exploit Indy's two weaknesses: Special Teams and Rush Defense. Indy is definitely stronger this year against the rush, but because their defense is set up to prevent passes for more than 10 yards, the Patriots need to focus on getting a good running game going. Unfortunately for the Patriots, they are a little weak in the running game with Laurence Maroney being injured. New England needs to somewhat imitate the Tennessee Titans if they want to come out of Indy with a win.

For Indy, the Colts need to basically have almost the same game plan as New England. Run the ball. New England is also slightly weak against the run as seen in the Dallas game and several other games. Indy is in a little better situation at running back. Addai should be back to full health. Kenton Keith the 2nd string running back is even averaging more yards per carry than Addai. Then for a third string running back there is Dawson who is the Ivy League record setter for yards and points as a running back. I also like Indy's attack on the quarterback with people like Dwight Freeney and Raheem Brock. Indy's offense should fair well. Jacksonville has the biggest and one of the most punishing defenses in the NFL and Indy handled them pretty well. That gives a good insight into how well they can handle New England's defense.

New England hasn't played a team with a winning record and their stats look awesome. Indy has good stats, although not as good, but it has played better quality teams with several of those teams being ranked #1 in their division at the time Indy played them.

Neither team can go into this game trying to obtain personal statistics to make themselves look better. If they do, they'll lose. Right now it looks like the Patriots are playing to try and rack up the statistics and the Colts are playing to ensure they get out of the game with a win regardless of the stats.

These teams are pretty evenly matched.

New England probably has the better offense.
Indy (surprisingly) probably has the better defense.
New England has a better special teams unit.
Indy has a deeper bench or number of good back ups.

The reason I picked New England's offense over Indy's is because they have been scoring on almost every drive. The Colts have done a good job on scoring on most drives but not quite as well. The Indy offense hasn't really started firing on all cylinders yet. If they do, they can easily become a very strong offense to compete against. Even with all of the good receivers that New England has this year, they don't have as many good receivers as Indy. Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai, and Anthony Gonzales make a formiddable nightmare for any opponent's defensive coach. They can dismantle a team with Reggie and Marvin at wide receiver or have Dallas cut to the middle or have Addai run the stretch play or have Addai run for the short pass or have Gonzales cut to the middle. That's one whale of an offensive juggernaut to cover defensively and opens the possibility for tons of offensive options. The more available options, the easier it is to fool the other team and get a first down. And if a team is foolish enough to attempt switching some of their players out to give them a rest Manning will typically yell out a quick audible and catch the opponent's defense with 12 men on the field.

For all of those Patriots fans that are tooting their horns already, they might keep in mind that Indy has won the last three matches between the teams with two of those matches being in New England. New England is a much improved team on offense, but Indy is a much improved team on defense. This will be a close game and I'm sure most everybody will be on the edge of their seats thoughout the game. Forget about the Super Bowl, the best two teams are playing in this game and most everybody knows it.

I am a Colts fan, but I will try to use simple statistics to answer your question, so as not appear as the biased anti-New England person that I am. To the person that cited the pre-season information as to strength of schedule, we all know now that this is not accurate, as the 3 other teams in the Patriots division now have a combined total of 3 wins in 20 total games...ouch! There are 6 automatic wins right there. The same can't be said for the AFC south whose other 3 teams have a combined total wins of 11 games in 19 played. 3 of the losses occured against the Colts and a couple other were within division losses.

Another important fact is that last Monday the Colts played a defense who has allowed the least number of points scored this season, while the Patriots opponent (Dolphins) has the defense that has allowed the most points against them in the NFL. If you want to use the argument that the Patriots contributed a lot to that number, it won't hold water, because even if you subtract those 49 points, the Dolphins are still at 182 points for the season, which is still in the top 5, even after you take the points away for one whole game.

The Patriots defense is going to have the same problem as the Colts defense next week. The
Colts will have to put a lot of coverage against Randy Moss, but Brady has a lot of other options, but so do the Colts. Who do the Patriots want to cover the most because if you cover Marvin Harrison, you still have Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Anthony Gonzales, Ben Utech, etc. all solid players.

Nobody can say for sure who will win, but I have seen Tom Brady self-destruct against the Colts, and I have seen Peyton self-destruct against the Patriots. The stronger head will prevail, not the bigger head (and Tom Brady has an enormous head!)

I am curious about your "panic" statement.
Manning is probably the coolest QB since Unitas, and if what he did in the AFC Championship last year, while being down 21-3, can be called panicking, then I hope he is absolutely "terrified" on Nov 4th.
As far as winning that game...all the Colts have to do is play exactly the SAME way they have been playing.
As for the Pats...they can't win, no matter what they do. They are nowhere near the team that the Colts are.

If the Pats play well they shouldn't have much trouble with the colts. The Colt's defense is an over rated joke, they are not as good as the cowboys defense who the patriots put 48 points up on. The Colts have only faced 2 teams all season that average more than 20 points a game. Patriots average almost 40 and they will easily clear that. When you consider the other side of the ball, the colts will probably have around 30 points no defense will shut them down all game they will score some but they wont be able to keep up with the Patriots.

People that say well the Pats haven'nt played anybody
except teams that are also in the NFL

when the strength of schedule was reported at the beggining of the year the Pats had the 3rd ranked toughest schedule
Indy had the 5th

Pats play 10 teams this year that were .500 or better from a year ago
the same goes for Indy

The Pats have 8 Teams on the schedule that were in the Play-offs last year

Indy has 5

To consider where both these teams came from ,both were bottom of the barrel at 1 time
Both have excellent coaching staffs and they know how to get there teams ready week to week

Indy will be a Home underdog week 9 vs Pats and it will not be by 16 like as of late maybe 3 points
and the winner will be the 1 who wants it more .

Pats have camera-gate as motivation
Indy has the lack of respect thing as motivation

final score Pats 34 Indy 31 in OT

No, in order for the Pats to win they must make sure the entire Colts team gets into a bus wreck. Manning will shut down the Pats defense.

Nope. in case you check out their video games this twelve months, and evaluate that to their season while they went to the total bowl and lost to the Giants, i could say that they don't look to be enjoying besides as they did that twelve months. The Pats are triumphing video games, and confident they are looking dominant, yet they don't look to be yet enjoying in a league of their own which you will communicate. The Patriots beat a pretty stable Bears group, greater often than not by using climate. remember they have been at an benefit when you consider that they are experienced at enjoying in that form of situation. Secondly, they took great element with reference to the Bears offensive line. The o-line for the Bears did not show up the day till now right now which brought about subject concerns for the Bears production. As for the Pats triumphing this twelve months, i think of they are #a million in the NFL certainly, however the genuine try would be in the playoffs. Can they beat communities down the stretch like a stable Steelers group or Ravens? i think of one component we could desire to remember is, at any time any group can win. as stable by using fact the Pats are enjoying, they could nonetheless lose in basic terms like they did in the total bowl against the Giants.

whoever gets more pressure on the opposing teams quarterback is going to win this game... that's why i believe the colts will win, freeny and mathis will be able to do it with a 4 man fronts while the pats will need to be more creative.

Most likely, considering the patriots have beaten the colts witout donte stallworth, randy moss, wes welker, adalius thomas, and sammy morris. This game is in favor of the patriots. And i think it might be a 14point game if the colts mess up as usuall and the patriots dont fool around like the last game against the dolphins.GO PATS
