The 5 speed works in all gears normally but it pops out of fifth gear unless you hold it in. If you hold it in it works fine and there are no noises. Whats up?

It sounds like the sycromesh, (inside the gearbox) is worn or damaged. Do you find the reverse gear is getting awkward a little? Some design gearboxes uses the same "Lay shaft" for reverse and "top" gear, i.e. Reverse and 4th, 5th or 6th gear. etc. I suggest you get it checked out by a garage as, (if this is the case), it will only get worse until it fails completely. good luck.

my guess is you are loosing a bearing in the transmission..
when they get a lot of play internally popping out of some gears is one of the symptoms
