Starting with the Morgan dollar 1878-1921 the mint mark if any is below the wreath at the bottom on the eagle side. No mint mark Philadelphia, D-Denver,S-San Francisco, O- New Orleans and CC- Carson city. On the Peace dollars 1921-1935 it is located on the eagle side below the word one. There will be no mint mark or a D, or S. The Anthony dollars 1979-1999 P,D or S above Anthony's right shoulder. Sacagawea dollars on the obverse under the date, P-D-S. The Presidential dollars it is on the edge of the coin and is a P-D-S. Of course dollar coins after the Peace dollars are not silver. Hope this helps.
