They are double-chickenhawks because they don't want to pay for the war either.

Yea, but this country would fall apart without the "Chickenhawk" con. I guarentee that a week after they all enlist, Iraq would be a better place to live than a lib America.
But, here's another question:
Would we have a chance of winning in Iraq if every lib actually enlisted?

The invasion of Iraq was successful. Saddam is no longer in power.

It is the stabilization of Iraq that has been trying. And according to all credible sources, the surge has been successful in drastically reducing violence.

The question is whether or not political advances can be made to quell the divide between the different factions within Iraq.

Essentially, we do have a "chance of winning", but it could still go either way. At this point, I don't think that more troops would increase our chances of victory.

NO, and they won't enlist and if there is a draft they will take lessons from Uncle Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh on draft dodging.
On the personal question "what are you waiting for?"

I am a Democrat who opposed the Iraq War from the first day.

I am way too old

1. I'm not a "con", but lean that way.

2. I already served (before the first gulf war)

3. The military is voluntary. No one is required to serve, even if they support the decision of the Commander-in-Chief.

The US has 300 million people. If the 25 percent of the country that still support Republican policies enlisted, we would be able to send over another 75 million soldiers. That is a lot of firepower.

But I guess, like Bush and Cheney, Republicans have "other priorities" than defending America.

We have a chance of winning even if they don't.
